Flock management systems for sheep and goats Your path to greater control and profitability

Complete control of your flock Could you imagine running a 1 000 cow dairy farm without individual milk recording, electronic ID and a herd management system? How would information be handled? How would decisions be made about breeding, feeding and management? Would it be profitable? Yet this is the way that 99 percent of sheep and goat farms are managed today. DeLaval offers modular flock management solutions that collect and analyse individual animal data 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can start with automatic cluster removal and/or electronic milk meters and upgrade later to electronic ID and flock management systems. Or you can build a state of the art farm, complete with sorting gate and feed wagons. All controlled by ALPRO Windows* SG. Electronic milk metering DeLaval milk meter MM25 SG is the key to DeLaval flock management system for sheep and goats. It displays and records individual information to be processed in ALPRO Windows SG. Infrared light technology makes MM25 SG extremely accurate. Its compact design, without moving parts, minimizes the risk of breakdowns and maintains accuracy along the line. In proof of its reliability, MM25 SG is the first milk meter to be approved by ICAR for small ruminants. Automatic cluster removal (ACR) DeLaval ACR shuts off the milking vacuum and removes the cluster when the animal is milked out. Half of your job is done automatically, so milking is faster and total milking time is significantly reduced. Moreover over-milking is avoided, reducing the mastitis risk and lowering somatic cell counts (SCC). A milker can handle twice the number of clusters compared to a plant without ACR, with no risk of over-milking. ALPRO Windows* SG ALPRO Windows SG 2.0 is a user friendly and flexible management program designed to optimize your decision making process. ALPRO accurately collects and evaluates data from every animal in your flock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also control the information through highlight, drag and drop to create tailor-made reports. Having complete milking, feeding, breeding and veterinary information empowers you to make better management decisions.

Choose from standard DeLaval milk meter MM25 SG This simple-to-use interface located at the cluster focuses on the operational part of milking management. It is ideal for farmers who want to follow a simple, efficient and consistent milking routine, minimizing the need for manual input. Yet the system records and displays valuable information such as animal number, milk yield and attention messages at the milk meter display. Four digit display Yield information is clearly displayed, with four red digits for easy reading from anywhere in the parlour, and animal numbers alternate with yield during milking. Customized messages are shown at the milk meter display and give the operator information for: don t milk, divert milk, separate animal, and user defined reminders. Simple user interface One push button controls all milking operations such as: start / stop milking, manual milking and attentions override. Located at the cluster for efficiency and ease of use. An LED integrated in the push button gives valuable information about milking status, using different colour codes and blinking patterns. DeLaval control box CBI DeLaval CBI is the parlour interface where you can modify all milking parameters. Thanks to the animal counters you can easily verify that the ID works correctly.

to premium control DeLaval milking point controller MPC510 SG DeLaval MPC510 SG records and sends information directly to ALPRO herd management system. You get real-time data on milk yields, animal numbers, milk flows, milking duration, stall position, etc. providing the management information you need to control your flock. All relevant attentions are indicated with various coloured LEDs to alert the operator immediately when action is required. Six digit display Yield information is clearly displayed with six green digits for easy reading from anywhere in the parlour, and animal numbers alternate with yield during milking. Press the toggle button to display milk flow and milking duration. Easy access buttons The most frequent milking operations such as start / stop milking, manual milking and separate animal have their own buttons. Control lamp When the control lamp lights up it will catch your attention from wherever you are in the parlour. Colour coded LED displays Indicators give the operator information for: do not milk, divert milk, separate animal, low yield, and manual milking. Pulsation control Pulsation is controlled at each milking point. Utilizing pulsation stop reduces parlour noise as well as wear and tear. DeLaval milking point controller MPC610 SG DeLaval MPC610 SG is your interface with ALPRO herd management system from the parlour. With the remote function you can read or modify information from any milking place.

Electronic ID system Whether feeding, milking or drafting, ID is the key. Automatic identification is a natural complement to milk metering and the key to an integrated flock management system. DeLaval portal ID SG can read boluses or eartags, achieving an outstanding identification hit rate. There is no need to install and manipulate one antenna per milking place with this fully automatic and trouble free ID system. Hand held reader Today s dairy farmers can save a lot of time and money by using DeLaval hand held reader HHR SG. There is no need to keep large amounts of information in your flock, or in masses of paper. With the hand held reader you can easily identify animals at the barn and assign them attentions or events. Once you are back at your desk, data is automatically synchronized with ALPRO Windows SG. Sorting gate DeLaval sorting gate SG-SG helps you to reduce your daily labour demands by automatically diverting selected animals that require special attention such as: insemination, dry-off, and veterinary treatments, to a separation area. ALPRO Windows allows you to select single animals or groups of animals sorted by different criteria. It is also possible to sort animals during milking, just by pressing the sort once button on MPC510 SG. Feed systems DeLaval feed systems such as feed wagons or feeding stations enable you to adjust feed rations to maximize milk production, while controlling labour costs and working hours. ALPRO Windows keeps track of each animal, adjusting the quantity and type of feed according to her milk production. It also feeds small rations on a frequent basis. Both strategies use feed efficiently to maximize nutritional intake and to increase yield.
