their report card will increase by at least 5%. 5. Create resources that will be used to provide parents with strategies to help their children with reading comprehension skills at home. SPINOUT TEACHER, SPED teacher and Basic Skills teacher will create/compile resources that parents will be able to use to support their children with reading comprehension at home. November 16 th - December 20 th Parent Survey in May, 2013 Useful handout or webpage with reading comprehension resources will be created for parents to reference at home.

School Goal(s): Reading fluency scores will improve on AIMSweb ing Team SMART Goal Our Current Reality: Last year, 85% of the 2 nd grade students scored average, above average, or well above average on the AIMSweb reading fluency assessment Our SMART Goal: This year, at least 90% of the 2 nd grade students will score average, above average, or well above average on the AIMSweb reading fluency assessment Strategies and Action Steps 1. Provide 15 minutes of time for independent reading each day so that students can practice reading fluency independently. 2. Students will practice and perform Readers Theater plays 4 times a year as another form of reading instruction so that students can practice reading fluency skills.
