Norstar digital business telephones Click on the images to the left for detailed descriptions and individual features of each Norstar phone. Available in different colors: Charcoal, Platinum, Ash (beige), Gray, and Black. For a list of telephone set benefits, click here. Why Norstar phones? Norstar digital telephone sets are designed to be functional, durable, and easily customizable. All functions of the Norstar system can be accessed through each phone, and the LCD displays provide valuable information so that the user can know how each call is processed. Norstar telephones are attractive, reliable, and come in two different flavors, the M-series, and the new style T-series. Each Norstar phone shares common attributes such as: LCD displays High-quality speaker Feature access button Release button Hold Button Programmable buttons Ringer and speaker volume control Reversible wall-mount/desk-mount base Headset or auxiliary ringer jack Available colors: Ash, Gray, Black, Charcoal, and Platinum While each type of phone shares many similarities, each one has its own specialty in terms of feature capabilities and functionality. Click on the images or links to learn more about the Norstar phones and how they would be best suited to different applications and businesses.

The M7324 Console speakerphone What is an M7324 phone? The M7324 console phone is the best choice for a full featured terminal or central answering position because it offers 24 programmable buttons with an LCD display for one-button access to any combination of lines, features, and autodial numbers. Up to two Central Answering Position (C.A.P.) modules (with 48 buttons per module) can be attached to the M7324 phone to create powerful call coverage for many lines or to accommodate additional Norstar features. Who should use an M7324 phone? The M7324 phone, with or without C.A.P. modules, is designed for secretaries and receptionists for centralized call answering. It is also useful for managers, professionals, and system administrators requiring high feature usage and access to various lines, including private lines. What type of applications use the M7324 phone? For smaller businesses and applications, the M7324 by itself is a central answering position. If all incoming calls are answered by one person and then distributed throughout the organization, then the purchase of an M7324 should be considered. Larger businesses and applications require the addition of C.A.P. modules. For example, stock brokers could use the M7324 with two C.A.P. modules for fast autodial access to preferred customers.

The C.A.P. add-on module What is a C.A.P. Module? The Central Answering Position, or C.A.P. is a module connected to an M7324 phone that provides 48 additional memory buttons which can be used to show a busy or idle status for up to 48 more sets, as well as to program system features or autodial numbers. Up to two C.A.P. modules can be added to any M7324 phone. Up to five enhanced C.A.P. positions can be supported on Modular ICS systems. The Compact ICS systems support only one enhanced C.A.P. position. Who should use a C.A.P. module? Secretaries and receptionists with M7324 phones responsible for call coverage for many lines will find the C.A.P. very useful. Secretaries, managers, and others providing backup answering services will also improve their productivity using a C.A.P. module, as will people requiring high feature usage or line access capabilities, such as telemarketing center managers.

The M7310 Executive speakerphone What is an M7310 phone? The M7310 executive phone is capable of extensive calling and call handling requirements. The 12 dualfunction memory buttons (with the shift button) at the top of the phone provide access to 24 additional frequently used features or autodial numbers. A Busy Lamp Field (BLF) can be attached to the M7310 to monitor the station status for buttons programmed for internal autodials. Who should use an M7310 phone? The M7310 phone is ideal for group answering positions, such as secretaries, managers, professionals, and system administrators (with or without a BLF attachment). People who require extensive autodialing and feature access would also benefit from using the M7310. What type of applications use the M7310 phone? The M7310 is useful for departments such as purchasing, sales, or accounting, where the same suppliers, customers, or accounts are frequently called. For secretaries, the M7310 with a BLF attachment can provide for central answering position abilities for smaller businesses, or backup answering services for larger organizations. Norstar system administration is made easy with the M7310 phone.

BLF Busy lamp field What is a BLF attachment? The Busy Lamp Field (BLF) creates an attendant position to monitor the status (busy or idle) of internal autodial keys programmed onto the buttons of an M7310 phone to which it is attached. No additional power or wiring is required. Who should use a BLF attachment? When a BLF is attached to an M7310 phone, it becomes an excellent receptionist or secretary phone for smaller Norstar configurations where line and internal autodial capacity are limited.

The M7208 Basic speakerphone What is an M7208 phone? The M7208 basic phone is a cost-effective set well suited for lower internal and higher external calling volumes. It supports up to any combination of eight lines and frequently-used features. Who should use an M7208 phone? The M7208 is a good choice for users who require only basic functionality, and who only need a few programmable features and/or autodial numbers. What type of applications use the M7208 phone? The M7208 can be used as a courtesy phone in lobbies, cafeterias, reception areas, or staff lounges. It is also well suited for areas where staff numbers are relatively high compared to the number of telephones need. For example, manufacturing plants, warehouses, retail departments, or repair centers would benefit from the M7208 phone's basic functionality.

"New Style" T7208 Basic speakerphone What is a T7208 phone? The T7208 basic phone is a cost-effective set well suited for lower internal and higher external calling volumes. It supports up to any combination of eight lines and frequently used features. Who should use a T7208 phone? The T7208 is a good choice for users who require only basic functionality, and who only need a few programmable features and/or autodial numbers. What type of applications use the T7208 phone? The T7208 can be used as a courtesy phone in lobbies, cafeterias, reception areas, or staff lounges. It is also well suited for areas where staff numbers are relatively high compared to the number of telephones need. For example, manufacturing plants, warehouses, retail departments, or repair centers would benefit from the T7208 phone's basic functionality. Currently, the T7208 is available in new stock only.

The T7406 Cordless speakerphone kit What is a T7406 Cordless phone? The Norstar T7406 Cordless phone offers full access to the functionality of the Norstar system in a compact unit with an approximate 200' range. An extra battery is kept in the charging cradle for uninterrupted service Who should use a T7406 Cordless phone? The T7406 Cordless phone makes an excellent choice for staff members and managers who frequently move about the office, but still need to make and receive calls, as well as check their voice mail messages. What are the T7406 Cordless phone benefits? The T7406 Cordless phone can access all Norstar functions through the use of its Feature key. This full-featured phone has the Norstar characteristic LCD display with the three soft-keys underneath, which provide an easy to use interface for handling calls, transferring calls, or checking voice mail messages. The T7406 Cordless phone also has six line appearance buttons which illuminate or flash when a line is active. How does the T7406 Cordless phone work? The T7406 Cordless phone kit includes a wall-mountable base antenna which can be centrally located in your facility. Each antenna can support up to three T7406 phones, and a maximum of two antennas (six cordless phones) can be placed on the system. The antenna is connected back to the Norstar system, so the charging cradle only requires an electrical outlet for the power supply. The range has been tested by our technicians to 200 feet (note that range can be adversely affected by electrical wiring and the steel structure of a facility). The T7406 kit also includes an extra phone battery.

The Polycom Sound Station conferencing speakerphone What is a Sound Station phone? Polycom's Sound Station conferencing speakerphone is the first choice for quality and reliability in small to medium sized conference rooms. Its full-duplex (two-way) speakers and microphones allow for exceptional clarity, and its attractive, modern design will enhance office decor while providing an easy to use interface. How does it function? The conferencing phone is typically placed at the center of a conference table. It has an effective 360 coverage range in an approximate 5-7 foot radius. It can connect back to a standard analog phone line, or through the Norstar system with the addition of an ATA analog terminal adapter. When connected to the Norstar system with an ATA, the Sound Station will become an extension of the system with its own extension number. Calls can be transferred to and from the conferencing phone, and all the features of the Norstar system can be activated from the phone as well. What are the benefits of the Sound Station? In a conference room environment, a true conferencing speakerphone is necessary to provide appropriate coverage. According to our own tests, and according to Polycom's own brochure notes, you can expect to realize the following benefits: Superior voice quality ~ full-duplex system eliminates echoes, clipped words, and reverberations for more natural two-way conversation. Easy to use ~ keypad operates just like any other handset phone, and includes mute button, flash key, and volume control. Easy to install ~ the Sound Station plugs into a standard power outlet, and a standard telephone jack (RJ-11). Superior sound quality ~ digitally tuned microphones provide full 360 room coverage so you can move around while speaking. Proven industry performance ~ installed and used worldwide by all major companies.
