APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 1. Admission Criteria for the iimt Executive Programmes Based on the regulations governing the award of the Executive MBA, the Executive Diploma and the Executive CAS of 19 th May 2015 the following admission criteria are required: 1) professional experience (Executive CAS two years) in a management position in the field of information and communications technology or utility and need a strong knowledge of one of these sectors. Candidates require to have obtained one of the following qualifications: a) licence (Bachelor/Master) recognised from a University or University of Applied Sciences or other diploma recognised as equivalent. 2) Exceptionally, after examination of their application, candidates may be admitted to the Executive Diploma and Executive CAS on the basis of long practical experience in information and communications technologies or utility technologies. 3) Candidates admitted to the Executive Diploma who obtain an overall grade average of 5.0 or higher in the examinations may be admitted to the Executive MBA programme. Candidates admitted to the Executive CAS who obtain an overall grade average of 5.0 or higher in the examinations may be admitted to the Executive Diploma programme. 2. Admission Criteria for the LL.M. Programme To be offered admission to the LL.M. Programme the following admission criteria are required: 1) Applicants must have a first complete law degree (such as a United States J.D. or LL.B.) or another academic qualification deemed equivalent by the Program Directors. Preference will be given to lawyers who have already practiced law. 2) A strong background in commercial law and interest in Business Practice is essential. In order to keep our faculty-student ratio low, no more than 30 students per year shall be admitted to the Program. Admission is based on the strength of academic records and professional achievements. 3. Admission and Organisation General Information English is the sole language of instruction and examination. Participants therefore require a strong knowledge of that language. The final Executive MBA, Executive Diploma and Executive CAS project may be written in English, German, French, or Italian. 4. Qualifying for the award of The Executive MBA will be awarded to candidates who a) attend modules at levels 1, 2 & 3 in the ten subject areas of the programme, b) obtain an overall passing grade for the Executive MBA examinations and c) submit a Master project which is accepted. The Executive Diploma will be awarded to candidates who a) attend modules at levels 1 & 2 in the ten subject areas of the programme, b) obtain an overall passing grade for the Executive Diploma examinations and c) submit a Diploma project which is accepted. The Executive CAS will be awarded to candidates who a) attend all 7 modules of the CAS programme, b) obtain an overall passing grade for the Executive CAS examinations and c) submit a CAS project which is accepted. The Master of Law (LL.M.) will be awarded to candidates who a) attended all course modules and participated in Moot Courts, b) obtain an overall passing grade for the examinations and c) submit a CAS project which is accepted. 5. 6. Instruction to Applicants Applications must include the following: the enclosed application form, duly completed and signed on page 7, the document General Terms and Conditions and Tuition Fees duly signed on page 5, curriculum vitae, two passport size photos with your full name on the reverse, copies of the already passed relevant iimt examinations, Diploma and degree certificates; - for holders of Swiss qualifications: copy of the diploma with details of subjects studied, grades obtained, and the grading scale used - for holders of qualifications obtained outside Switzerland: copies of certificates relating to your studies including details of the courses followed, examinations passed and grades obtained for each year of study together with the grading scale in use. These documents must be legalised at the appropriate embassy or consulate. In addition, any document in a language other than English, French, German, or Italian must be accompanied by a translation which must also be legalised by the appropriate embassy or consulate, description of your current function including a clear indication of your place in the organisational hierarchy of the company and the number of years that you have occupied this position, TOEFL or IELTS score (for the LL.M. programme) a letter of recommendation from your employer certifying your current employment; if your (page 8) from the employer, duly completed and signed (for the iimt Executive Programmes) academic abilities (for LL.M. programme), the table of contents and a 10-page excerpt from the main essay or dissertation written by the candidate during the course of university studies. In case such texts are not available in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish, applicants are asked to submit a translation (for LL.M programme), a personal statement explain (for LL.M programme), a proof of payment of the 150 Euro application fee (This is a non-refundable fee that is counted toward your tuition fee if you are accepted to the Program. Your application will NOT be reviewed unless we have received the non-waivable application fee). 11/02/2016 3
7. General Terms and Conditions Withdrawal of candidates Before the first teaching day: If any participant formally withdraws from the programme within 14 days following the date of notification of admission an administrative charge of CHF 300. will be levied. Additionally, the application fee will not be refunded. If any participant withdraws more than 14 days following the date of notification of admission, but before the beginning of the programme, an administrative charge of CHF 2500. will be levied. Additionally, the application fee will not be refunded. After the teaching has begun: If a participant withdraws after the programme has begun, the whole fee is due for the year in which the withdrawal takes place, plus 50% of the outstanding fees for the remaining year or years of the programme to which the participant was admitted. Rescheduling of the course program by the participant An administrative fee of CHF 250.-- for every participant who decides within less than two weeks The application fee will not be refunded. Cancellation and rescheduling of course weeks by the iimt/fribourg University Law School Both schools reserve the right to reschedule modules: for this purpose a reserve week is designated. If the schools cancel any module without offering it within the reserve week, then the cost of the module will be refunded to all EMBA, Executive Diploma or Executive CAS candidates. If a module is rescheduled at a date other than the designated reserve week, participants who are unable to attend will also receive this refund. Fees in cases where modules and/or examinations are repeated No fees are due for re-sitting an examination.
