Getting Started with Your ILP What is the Individual Learning Plan? Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is an online education planning tool to help you plan your coursework and activities as you prepare for postsecondary education and develop your career. The ILP has been designed to help you, your parents, teachers, and advisors work together to develop an education plan that meets your needs and helps ensure that you can achieve your career goals. Every year while in middle/ high school, students will be required to complete various sections of their ILP in order to meet the ILP Completion Standards for their specific grade. In addition, each year students will be required to indicate in their electronic ILP that they have Reviewed and Revised the required sections. Because the ILP is completely web-based, you can access your ILP from school, home or anywhere you have access to the internet. After logging on to the computer and accessing the Internet, you will follow these directions to access your personal ILP. Step 1: Login to Your ILP Open a web browser and go to http://www.careercruising.com/ilp Enter your personal ILP username and password. Your username is your 10-digit student ID number and your password is a 6-digit number. Click on the Login button. (Remember to use the Logout tab from the Menu on the left side of your ILP Homepage when you are leaving your ILP session. When doing so at school, also remember to completely Logout of the computer.) Step 2: Enter Your Email Address When you log into your ILP for the first time, you should enter an email address in the box that appears. Entering your email will allow you to retrieve your ILP password in case you forget it. Step 3: Create Your GoHigherKY Account (if you have not already created an account) If you are 13 years of age or older, you can link your ILP to an account on the GoHigherKY.Org site. GoHigherKY is an online resource to help Kentucky students and their families plan for college, apply for admission and learn how to finance higher education. In order to use the GoHigherKY website to its fullest potential you will have to create an account with GoHigherKY. It is an important part of the ILP so please take the time to create your account. You will only have to do this once. After your account is created, your GoHigherKY account will become part of your ILP, which means you will be able to travel back and forth between these two tools without having to enter your passwords. You will be able to go from GoHigherKY to your ILP and from your ILP to GoHigherKY. Click on the pink GoHigherKY logo near the top of the page to create your account and enjoy all that GoHigherKY and the ILP have to offer you as you move towards your goals.
