Agreement: When requesting use of the Nooksack Community Building, the responsible person shall complete the attached Usage Agreement and comply with all building requirements. Please complete this form at least one week prior to your event to ensure all accommodations are met. Scheduling Instructions: 1. Obtain Community Building Rental Agreement at the Administration Office front desk located at: 5016 Deming Road, Deming WA 98244 (360) 592-5176 or online: nooksackindiantribe.org 2. Contact Elina Tageant for building availability: (360) 303-5321 or via email: etageant@nooksack-nsn.gov 3. Complete form and return to Administration Office receptionist with $150.00 damage deposit in check or money order payable to: Nooksack Indian Tribe 4. Present the damage deposit receipt to the Community Building Coordinator to complete the rental agreement, request any special accommodations and confirm your building reservation. 5. A $200 rental fee is required to be paid in full prior to the date of event. Check or money order payable to: Nooksack Indian Tribe and submitted to the Administration Office. 6. Check in: The responsible person must complete initial walkthrough and itemized check list with the Community Building Coordinator prior to taking possession of the facility. 7. Check out: Following the event, the responsible person and the Community Building Coordinator will inspect the facility and sign the Check Out portion of the Rental Agreement. Please note: Damages, cleaning fees and any missing items will be deducted from the damage deposit accordingly. Disclaimer: The Tribe reserves the right to refuse use of the Community Building to anyone for any reason. Please understand that in the instance of death within the Tribe s membership, your event may need to be canceled immediately. If this occurs, the damage deposit and rental fee will be returned.
Accountabilities: The responsible person signing this agreement will be held accountable for any damages to the building or equipment. Any of the items in the Nooksack Community Building will not leave the premises for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, etc. The responsible person agrees that he/she will be accountable for all areas of the Nooksack Community Building. This will include all areas inside the building as well as the entire area outside of the building. These areas will remain free of any trash or debris before, during and after the use of the building. Included in the Use of the Building: The Nooksack Community Building Coordinator or their delegate will provide restroom supplies and trash bags. A vacuum, mop and bucket will also be available for cleaning purposes. These items must remain in the building. Any other items needed for an event will need to be supplied by the responsible person. Please note: firewood for the BBQ pit is not included. Not To Be Used: Any items that could damage or potentially damage any surface in the Community Building cannot be used at any time during the course of an event. This includes tacks, staples, nails, etc. If tape is needed, please ask the Community Building Coordinator for the approved type of tape that will not damage or remove any surface area in the building. Not Permitted: Alcohol, drugs or any kind of illegal activity will NOT be permitted in or around the Nooksack Community Building. No smoking is allowed inside the building and smokers outside of the building are asked to dispose of cigarettes in the outdoor trash cans. Rental Fee Exclusion: Funeral services of a Nooksack Tribal Member or a spouse of a Tribal Member are excluded from the rental fee. However, any damages during this event will be the responsibility of the user. All other events require a deposit and rental fee. Community Building Rental Fees: $200 for a full day or $40 an hour Damage Deposit: A damage deposit of $150 is required to schedule and reserve the event on the official Community Building calendar. Upon completion of the final check out, the damage deposit check or money order will be returned to the responsible person if there are no damages to the Community Building. However, any missing items or equipment will be deducted from the damage deposit accordingly. Acceptable Forms of Payment: Please make checks or money orders payable to: Nooksack Indian Tribe Note: Please retain rental fee receipts and copies of this agreement for your records. Law Enforcement: Please be advised, Nooksack Indian Tribe Law Enforcement may conduct random site visits during any scheduled event.
