Transcription:

I am Hera- Greek Goddess of Marriage. It is said that I m the most beautiful of all Goddesses. I am married to Zeus (my brother!) It is said that our honeymoon lasted three hundred years (the longest honeymoon on record). I am very relationship-oriented and spend much of my time driving off Zeus's innumerable nymphs, mistresses, and other dalliances.

I am Zeus- God of Sky and Thunder, King of the Gods & Ruler of Mt. Olympus I m highly powerful, strong, charming & persuasive. I am married to Hera (my sister!) But I get in trouble often for my numerous love affairs. I have lots and lots of children (Hercules & Aphrodite are two of my more famous children). I m associated with being a weather god, and can control thunder, lightning and rain.

I am Poseidon- God of the Sea. I am the brother of Zeus and I m known as a fertility god. I am powerful, decisive, competitive, and dignified. It s important to stay on my "good side since I m moody, quick to take offense, and make a hobby out of taking my revenge out on those who anger me. I m sexually insatiable and have had countless lovers, including men. I had sex with Medusa on the floor of a temple & she turned into a hideous monster with writhing snakes in her hair.

I am Ares- God of Savage War I am the son of Zeus & Hera. I m a bearded, good looking man, often seen with a spear in my hand. I m decisive, determined & fearlessalways looking for a fight, regardless of the consequences. I m not married, but I don t have too many lonely nights! I have a few children, and I once had a famous affair with Aphrodite.

I am Apollo- God of the Sun I am the son of Zeus & one of his mistresses. My twin sister is Artemis. I m creative & handsome with curly golden hair. I drive a chariot across the sky daily. I have many sexual encounters but have never been married. I ve had the most male lovers of any of the Greek gods.

I am Aphrodite- Goddess of Love & Beauty I rose from the foam of the waves of the sea, enchanting anyone who sees me, and I incite feelings of love and lust wherever I go. I m known as being vain, ill-tempered and easily offended. I m a gorgeous, perfect, eternally young woman with a beautiful body. I m a bit stuck on myself, but with a perfect face and body, who can blame me? I m married, but I m frequently unfaithful to my husband.

I am Athena- Goddess of Wisdom I am the daughter of Zeus- I was born from his forehead when he swallowed my pregnant mother. I am known for being rational & intelligent. I was never married & have had no children (it is said that I remained a virgin all of my life). Uncle Poseidon & I competed for the affection of the Greek people. I gave them the gift of the olive tree, which provided shade, oil and olives. In return, they named a city after me: Athens.

I am Artemis- Goddess of Wild Things I am the daughter of Zeus. Apollo is my twin brother. I m physically strong and able to defend myself. I dislike men, whom I sometimes order torn apart if they see me bathing. I oppose the institution of marriage and the subsequent loss of freedom it entails for women. I never married and have no children. Instead I run with my maidens in the forest.

I am Rhea- Earth Goddess Mother of Zeus. Married to Cronus. I caused my husband Cronus to stop eating our children. I was able to save Zeus and then brought the Olympian Gods into power. I was raped by my son Zeus when I told him he may not marry, despite my change to a snake.

I am Cronus- God of Time I m determined & rebellious. I was insanely jealous of my own children, thinking that they would seize my power, so I ate them as soon as my wife Rhea gave birth to them. My son Zeus survived when Rhea whisked him away after his birth. I survive today as a symbol: Father Time.

I am Helios- God of the Sun I m a handsome youth, often wearing a headdress indicating solar attributes. Each day I rise from a golden palace beneath the sea and drive my fiery chariot across the sky every day, providing daylight.

I am Demeter- Goddess of Agriculture I control the fertility of the earth. I have the power to give life after death to those who find out my mysteries. I was never married, but I have one child. After the kidnapping of my daughter Persephone, I darkened the earth and wouldn t let the plants grow. But who can blame me? Zeus gave Hades permission to "marry" my daughter but whoops! didn't mention it to her or me. Everyone thought she d been kidnapped.

I am Hades- King of the Dead Lord of the Underworld I am son of Rhea and Cronus (Father Time). I m a vigorously bearded man who is rich with the wealth of the earth, especially precious metals. I m persistant & determined. I captured Demeter s daughter Persephone and dragged her off to be my queen in the underworld.

I am Hephaestus God of the Forge, Crafts & Fire Son of Zeus and Hera. I m a dark-haired man who has difficulty walking due to misformed feet. I m creative and cunning & I m an impressive metal s worker. I m crafty & vindictive, and I can t hold my liquor! I m married to Aphrodite. I created Pandora (of the famous box).

I am Medusa (with serpentine hair) My gaze can turn observers into stone. I can stop anything in its tracks. I am unmarried, though I did lie with Poseidon. Pegasus (the winged horse) is said to have emerged from my head. While I am usually considered to be ugly, one myth states that it s my great beauty that paralyzes all observers.

I am Persephone- daughter of Demeter I am a beautiful young maiden just on the verge of womanhood. I have beauty so ravishing that it attracts much attention. I am known as the maiden of beautiful ankles. Zeus gave permission for Hades (my uncle) to take me for his bride, which he did quite literally- he dragged me off into the underworld and made me his queen. I was not pleased, but was happy to be free from my mother.
