Forzip Card Production Software - Technical Specification Updated March 20th, 2014 Forzip, developed by Task Sistemas since 1996, is the software for management of card production based on the know-how acquired over the years on production bureaus processes. Forzip was conceived to meet the needs of a broad range of companies: since high security card production bureaus to Government institutions, companies, clubs, schools, industries, offices, associations and others who want to produce internally their associates IDs. Data Structure Forzip is based on Microsoft Access files, which are created and configured automatically. For each new Client, Forzip will create a specific folder containing the accdb database, where the User shall store cards images. There are no limits on the number of databases created. Fields On Forzip, User defines as many Fields as needed, according to data that will be printed and / or engraved on cards to be produced. Field Types: Text ID Autofilled ID Number Numeric sequence Date System Date Autofilled date Bar Code Bar Code contents Image Allows defining lists of valid contents for each Field. Allows defining default content for each Field. Allows defining the initial value for the Autofilled ID and for the Numeric sequence Fields. 1
Card Layouts Graphic interface for Card Layout editing. Just drag and drop to add Fields on the Card Layout. Multiple possibilities to configure Fields: Fonts, colors, alignment Automatically calculates the ideal font size for a specific text on a Field area. Contents required or not. Wrap text in 2 lines. Field mask User defined the output for each Field: Printed Laser engraved Magnetic stripe encoded Contact or contactless smart card encoded (**) Allows card background images on any external graphic editor, such as Corel Draw, PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator etc. Any size of Card Layout (ID card, A4, A3, Letter, user defined). Layout zoom up to 500%. Allows adding fixed graphic elements to the layout, such as texts, images, lines, ellipsis, rectangles, polygons and free drawings. Grid and rulers to help Field positioning. Client Data Imports data from many data files, such as Access, Excel, fixed-column text, comma-separated text (CSV) and ODBC. (**) Batch import for images. Automatically fills Field with pre-defined default contents. Upper and lower cases text conversion. Deletes specific Fields data and / or deletes selected data rows. Automatically generates Bar Codes. Shows cryptographic data, verification digits and other elements contained on Bar Codes as textual data. Data Edition Easily edit texts and images for the cards to produce. Automatic association of front and back Card Layouts for each data row. Shows production information for each data row: Production status (produced or not) Date time of production Production types (printed, laser engraved, magnetic stripe and / or smart card) Card approved or reproved (**) Ribbon used on card Type of card used Search info by any Field. Prints data lists for the Fields selected by the User. 2
Images Edits images previously saved. Bright, contrast and gamma adjustments. Image rotation according to User-defined angle. Associates images to textual data. Automatically crops images according to the area designed for Field on the Card Layout. Automatically crops images saved on Photo Albums. (***) Border templates for images: square, rounded or elliptical on User defined angle; with or without blurred edges. (**) Transparent backgrounds on images. Image acquisition through PC camera. (**) Bar Codes Bi-dimensional (2D) Bar Codes: QR Code Linear Bar Codes (****): Interleaved 2 of 5 Code 39 Code 128 Subsets A, B and C Codabar EAN-13 UPC-E UCC-EAN 128 Other Bar Code standards may be requested. Magnetic Stripe User-defined configuration on magnetic stripe. Encodes the 3 tracks on high or low coercivity. Laser Engraving (*) Easy configuration for tactile marking data, ghost images and micro texts. MLI and CLI marking. (**) Laser marking properties available for configuration on each Field on the layout: Speed Power (marking intensity) Frequency Data resolution Step size Passes per Field Laser pulses per point 3
Card Production On Forzip, all operations required to produce one card are processed and submitted together to output devices. Consider that each card production may require both laser marking, thermal transfer or re-transfer printings, magnetic stripe encoding, as well as contact and contactless encoding. User selects the operations to be performed at production s time (according to User s Profile). User defines selection criteria and ordering on data for card production. Allows selecting only cards not produced yet. Preview tool for cards to be produced. Preview tool shows calculated font size for each Field on the card. Data checking prior to card production, indicating reasons to reject card production (data missing, image missing, text doesn t fit in area, etc). Configuration: doesn t allow production of cards with missing data or images. Checks if smart card chip is ready to be encoded prior to printing or laser engraving. (**) Produces cards with different Card Layouts on the same batch job. Compatible with all printers commanded by Windows drivers. Allows production for landscape and portrait Card Layouts on the same card (front and bak sides). Prints and / or laser engraves front and back sides of the card at one time, for devices with flip option. User defines number of cards to be produced on batch jobs, to consist with card feeder and / or dispenser of the unit. Production Management (**) User informs approval or reproval for each card produced, feeding information for management reports. Card approval may be informed right after card production, or later. Reports by Client, by period of time or by User, showing totals of cards approved and reproved, as well as loss production calculation. Helps bureau management of cards and ribbon consumption. Credits Forzip adopts SaaS model (Software as a Service): the customer pays only for the cards to be produced, buying production credits. Credits are saved on Forzip protection dongle, and will only be debited at production time, one credit per card. Checks available credits on protection dongle. User defines ideal and critical number of credits. Forzip shows warnings when credits reach these levels. User updates dongle with credits acquired. 4
Users and Profiles Management Forzip works based on the concept of Profiles for its Users, so the Administrator will define different permission levels according to the specific activities of each User on the bureau. High security production levels may be achieved by the adoption of strict card production permissions. Administrator edits User Profiles, setting which operations can be performed for that Profile. Administrator edits Users associated to User Profiles. Settings for specific permissions: To produce cards with missing data. To print or laser engrave a smart card without encoding its chip. To produce one side only for a card that was configured as having both front and back sides. To produce each card more than once. This permission is highly relevant to cohibit card cloning during production. Specific permissions for the User to perform each of the production types: to print, to laser engrave, to encode magnetic stripe, to encode smart card. Permission to manage credits on protection key. System Requirements Windows 7 32-bit, 64-bit or superior. 1 USB port 2.0 or superior for Forzip protection dongle. Optional for image acquisition: Microsoft Direct X 11 or superior. Notes (*) These features are available for Nidec-COPAL CLM-20 laser marker. CLM-20 is certified and distributed exclusively in Brazil by Task Sistemas. (**) Feature available after version 5.2 of Forzip. (***)This feature uses the Photo Album form available on Forzip installation folder. (****) Fonts not included. 5
