Eight colours, inspired by the Finnish nature, allow deck designs that are fresh and clean. Distinctive patterns can be achieved by alternating the direction of the boards or utilising both the fine and the wide groove surfaces of the reversible profile. Best of all, once installed, the deck will continue to look great throughout the years with only minimal maintenance. Colours that withstand time Deck sets new standards in colour durability. Unlike wood and other composites, it is virtually free of lignin, the natural molecule which causes wood and other natural fibres to turn grey when exposed to sunlight. Resisting stains, reducing worries Deck features a non-brushed closed surface. Unlike wood and many other composite deckings, wine, oil and other liquid spills are not readily absorbed and can be easily cleaned. Whereas other decks need to be built on an incline to avoid water stains, Deck can be built flat (zero degrees incline), due to its closed surface. In terms of maintenance, no sanding, varnishing, painting or staining is needed. In most cases brushing and the occasional jet wash is all that is required. Strength that is wonderful to the touch The principle polymer used in Deck is high performance polypropylene. Impact resistance in both hot and cold climates is exceptionally strong, and the deck surface has better scratch resistance than decks which feature a polyethylene composite surface. Despite this, the deck has a natural, almost soft feel to it. DESIGN DECK RANGE UPM PROFI DECK, UPM PROFI DECK PLUS, UPM PROFI DECK STRONG Smart installation solutions With its patented Rail Step solution, Deck makes building deck stairs stylish and easy. Closed deck surfaces can be achieved with Alu-Rail. Colour matching T-Clips ensure a seamless look as well as a long lasting fixing solution. Cover Strip can be bent to fit around curved deck areas, and Support Rail can be installed directly on the ground. A whole range of other smart accessories are listed at the back of the brochure. Positively helping the environment The principal materials used to make Deck are specially selected cellulose based fibres and clean plastic polymers which, as by-products of other industrial processes, would otherwise be disposed of in landfill or incineration. Deck is PVC free and non toxic. By giving a second life to these materials, it is a great case of a good environmental solution resulting in better technical performance. Special applications: PLUS and STRONG Deck Plus has been specially designed to withstand hotter climates and areas with higher UV levels. No single board is exactly alike. In both Lifecycle and Veranda, a similar blending of natural tones, enriched with darker veins produces the same wonderful look. Fine grain and texture The fine grained texture of Lifecycle and Veranda gives the deck boards a natural feel. Bare feet feel at home, and there is no danger of splinters. Every fibre double protected Both Lifecycle and Veranda undergo a two stage production process that ensures total fibre protection. Unlike traditional WPC boards which have a brushed surface, the polymer shell remains intact on deck boards. This results in superior weather and stain resistance. Tough enough to take the knocks Lifecycle and Veranda have been engineered to have a high impact strength. Even in the coldest of winters, the deck boards will withstand hard knocks without becoming brittle. 9
CLASSIC DECK RANGE UPM PROFI LIFECYCLE & UPM PROFI VERANDA The beauty of hardwood without the worries Lifecycle Available in three luxurious wood tones, Lifecycle deck boards feature natural looking streaks and veins, making each deck a unique living surface. During the manufacturing process recycled American red and white oak fibres are heat treated, encapsulated in a hard polymer shell, and then allowed to cool naturally. This patented production process produces an exceptionally stable solid board that is protected to the core. Lifecycle has superior resistance to oil spills and stains and it can be installed on or in the ground or under water. Lifecycle is manufactured in USA. Veranda Veranda comes in Brazilian Walnut colour and has a two sided profile. Natural looking dark streaks and veins are featured on both the natural wood grain surface on one side and the fine grooved surface on the other. Veranda boasts a closed surface that offers superior resistance to spills and stains. Since Veranda is manufactured using lignin free cellulose fibres, it also offers superb colour durability. Veranda is manufactured in Germany. 10
During the first six months after installation, Lifecycle weathers to its long term natural look. The surface will similarly recover if sub-sequently scratched or marked. 11
UPM PROFI FLOOR ELEGANCE WITH EASE Designed by Finland s Artek Studio, Floor is a stunning new floor tile system. The tiles are incredibly easy to install and bring a new level of elegance to outdoor living. Floor combines the beautiful stonelike appearance with a warm and soft feel. It is made from the same advanced composite material as Deck. Enjoying the same high performance properties, the tiles that are wonderful to the touch of bare feet are tough enough for stilettos as well. Whether renovating an old balcony or terrace, or planning a new one, Floor tiles can be installed in a matter of minutes. The tiles are simply laid onto a flat surface and linked by the X-Clips. It provides a clean and fresh look that will last over the years with a minimum of maintenance. The closed surface of Facade provides excellent resistance to the weather. Lignin free cellulose fibres ensure long lasting colours. When compared to other exterior cladding materials, Facade also offers superior impact resistance. Easy to install, the system includes anodized aluminium profiles to facilitate corners and joints. Facade is available in the same wide range of colours as Deck. UPM PROFI FENCE PRIVACY AND PROTECTION As strong as it is beautiful, Fence provides the perfect frame to any outdoor space. Design and Classic range decking boards form the panels and are combined with a high quality post and rail component system. The result is elegant protection from weather and unwanted eyes providing a wonderful finishing to any outdoor living space. The system allows for flexibility of design and construction. The height of the fence can be tailored during installation, and the posts are engineered for both 90 and 180 degree panel construction. Due to the strength of the construction, fence panel spans of up to 2m are possible. Design elements let in light and add to the design. Anodised aluminium profiles ensure an extremely stylish and ultra low maintenance fence. The Design and Classic Deck Ranges have been designed to facilitate smart installation. s patented Rail Step solution makes professional stair building effortless, and can also be used as a hard wearing terrace edge rail. A stylish closed deck surface that is still easy to clean can be achieved with Alu-Rail. 3 Installation systems and accessories for every application 1. Foot 2. Alu Support Rail, Large 3. Alu Support Rail, Small Rubber Strip provides a typical yacht deck look and Cover Strip is flexible enough to be fitted on curved deck edges. T-Clips and Wing Clips match the deck board colours, and the large version allows 90 degree board fixing. Foot range has double the height adjustment of other deck feet, and the height can even be altered after the joists have been laid. Support Rails are the perfect solution for installation on a hard flat surface whereas Alu Support Rail Large enables suspended construction with a span between feet of up to 110cm. The 23mm thick Alu Support Rail Small makes thin deck construction possible where space is limited. Water-permeable and rot proof Rubber pads allow rapid water drainage and are suitable for levelling small ground irregularities under Support Rail.
