Step 1: Install the AhsayOBS The first step to deploy the Ahsay Backup Software is installing the AhsayOBS (Ahsay Offsite Backup Server). In this example, we are going to use Windows Edition. For Linux and UNIX edition, please refers to the Ahsay Offsite Backup Server Installation Guide and Ahsay Offsite Backup Server Administrator's Guide. 1. Run the installer. Click Run to continue. 2. Choose the language. Then click OK to continue. Page 3
3. Click Next. 4. Read the agreement. Select I agree the agreement if you agree. Then click on Next to continue the installation. Page 4

7. Enter the ports to be used by Ahsay. By default the ports are 80 and 443. If these ports have been used by other applications, e.g. Microsoft IIS, please enter other port numbers. E.g. 8080, 8443, etc. Then click Next to start the installation. Page 6

Step 2: Create the first user account in AhsayOBS The second step in a basic deployment is to create an user account. Basically, Ahsay identify every client machine by user account. In other words, each user account represents one dedicated client machine. 1. Login to AhsayOBS. URL is http://[obs IP]/ E.g. http://192.168.1.250/ Administrator Login Name: system Password: system Page 8
2. In the AhsayOBS, click on [Manage User] Ahsay v6.11 Quick Start Guide for Microsoft Windows 3. Click [Add User] on the top left hand corner. 4. Enter the following information user account. i. Login Name ii. Password iii. Email Address Page 9
iv. Choose the Backup Client. I.e. - Choose AhsayOBM User for AhsayOBM. - Choose AhsayACB User for AhsayACB. v. Change the Backup Quota according to your need. Default is 50MB. 5. Click Add at the bottom of the page to finish. Page 10
Step 3: Download and install AhsayOBM The third step of basic deployment is download and install the client agent on the client machine which to be backed up. In this example, we are going to install the AhsayOBM (Ahsay Online Backup Manager). 1. Go to the AhsayOBS web console 2. Click on Getting Started with AhsayOBM on the menu on left hand side. 3. Click on AhsayOBM installation Wizard. Page 11
4. A pop-up window will show. Click on Download Ahsay Online Backup Manager to download the AhsayOBM installer. 5. Run the installer after it downloaded. Page 12
6. Choose the language to use. 7. Click Next to continue. Page 13

Step 4: Start AhsayOBM and create the first Backup Set After installing the AhsayOBM, it is necessary to configure it in order to perform backup jobs. In this example, a basic file backup set will be created. A backup set is the backup setting of backup data. For examples, what to backup (Backup Source), when to backup (Backup Schedule), etc. 1. Open AhsayOBM console by clicking [Start] -> [ All Programs] -> [Ahsay Online Backup Manager] -> [AhsayOBM] 2. Enter the AhsayOBS IP / Address in the box Backup Server. E.g. 192.168.1.250. Then Click Next to continue 3. If you see this screen, please click on Already a user at the bottom to continue. Page 17
4. Enter the AhsayOBM Login Name and Password, which created in the AhsayOBS web console already. 5. Click OK to login. 6. After the first login, the New Backup Set Wizard pops-up. The first Backup Set can be created by using this wizard. i. Enter the Backup Set Name. ii. Choose the Backup Set Type. iii. Click Next to continue. Page 18
7. Choose the Backup Source. Backup source is the items to be backed up. In file backup type, there are 5 shortcuts provided. For other files/ folders, please click the Advanced button to choose. 8. After backup source selection, click Next to continue. Page 19
9. Now select the Backup Schedule. The default backup schedule is Daily 9pm. i. To edit the default schedule, click on Properties Page 20
ii. To add a new schedule, click on Add. Then change the Type and Time according to your needs. After that, click on OK to confirm. 10. Click Next to continue. Page 21
11. Configure the Encryption Key. i. Default: Encryption key same as AhsayOBM User account password ii. Custom: Choose your own encryption key. 12. Click on OK to continue. Page 22
13. Click Save Setting on the top right corner to save the Backup Set settings. Page 23
Step 5: Perform Manual Backup Job Backup job can be performed automatically according to the Backup Schedule setting. Alternatively, backup can be performed manually. In this step, a manual backup will be performed. 1. Click on Backup on the top left corner. 2. Choose the backup set to be used. Then click on OK to start the backup. Page 24
3. Backup in progress 4. Backup completed. Click Close to finish. Page 25
Step 6: Restoration This step shows how a restoration performed. 1. Click on Restore on the top left corner. 2. Choose the backup set for restoration. Page 26
3. Choose: i. The Date and Time on the top. ii. The folder(s) / file(s) to be restored. iii. Select Restore files to original location / alternate location iv. Click Start Restore to start the restoration. 4. Click on Close after restoration completed. Page 27
