1 Configuring an Etherspeak SIP Trunk in Microsoft Lync 2013 This is to cover the steps needed for basic functionality to communicate with Etherspeak s SIP trunking service. Many environments are different when it comes to policies, dial plans, etc, but this should give the basic information needed to make a call route to Etherspeak s Lync SIP trunking service. Add trunks to the Topology Builder Set preferences in the Control Panel 1. Add trunks to the Topology Builder Topology Builder Setup. The first section is to add our PSTN gateway to the Lync Topology Builder. a. When you open the Topology Builder, select Download Topology from existing deployment to download your current setup. b. 2 c. Now that your topology is loaded, expand the folders to get to PSTN gateways. d. Right click PSTN gateways and choose New IP/PSTN Gateway. e. On the first screen, give it the name of the gateway that you were instructed to use. In this example, we are adding lyncoptions2.ietherspeak.com so we will use that for the FQDN field. After entering the information, click next f. The next screen can use the defaults of Enable IPv4 and Use all configured IP addresses. If your Lync Server has multiple addresses on its network cards, you may need to define which one you are using to send and receive calls on. Since there is only 1 IP configured on the network card in this example, we will click next. g. On the next screen a few options should be changed from their default values. The Listening port should be changed to 5060, the SIP transport should be changed to TCP, and the associated mediation server port should be changed to Click Finish EtherSpeak Configuration Guide: SIP Trunks for Microsoft Lync 2013 Page 2 of 5

3 h. Now that the new trunk is part of the deployment, we need to publish our changes so that we can use the new trunk in the Control Panel. Right click Lync Server at the top and select Publish Topology. Once that completes successfully, you may close out of the Topology Builder. Now that the topology setup is complete, open up your Lync Control Panel and login. 2. Set Preferences in the Control Panel a. Go to Voice Routing on the left hand side b. Go to Trunk Configuration and click new Pool Trunk. c. Select the new PSTN Gateway added in your topology builder and click OK. d. The configuration screen will open for the new trunk you selected. 4 i. Encryption support level Not Support ii. Refer Support None iii. Calling number translation rules Add a new one 1. We want to call it RemoveExt as we are going to remove the extension from being included in the from messages sent by the Lync system. 2. In the rule, click edit on the bottom. a. Replace the match this pattern with ^\+(\d*)(;ext=\d{4})?$ where the 4 is the amount of digits you are using for extensions. So if you use 3 digit extensions, you would put a 3 in there instead. b. Click ok a couple times to get back to the main page iv. Click commit Commit all to save your changes. e. Go to Dial Plan at the top and click new Pool Dial Plan. f. 5 g. The Configuration will open up. By default, the setup had a Keep All normalization rule so no changes were made. Press ok to get back to the main screen and click Commit Commit all to save. h. The next section is Voice Policy. We left the Global one in place, opened it and associated it with all the PSTN Usages (Internal, Local, Long Distance). This may differ from your deployment depending on how things are set up. Click ok and once again Commit Commit all to save any changes you made. i. Under Route at the top is the next section. Here you want to create a new route to reference your SIP trunk. You can name it anything you wish. The default pattern to match of.* was left to match everything and the associated PSTN usages had everything selected again (which may differ from deployment to deployment). The important field here is to go to Associated Trunks and click Add and select the PSTN Gateway trunk you added originally in Topology Builder. Once finished, click OK to get back to the main screen and again Commit Commit all to save your changes. You can now test in/outbound calling over your EtherSpeak LyncTrunks!
