VESSEL DESCRIPTION Straight Up, a 2002, 45 Linssen DS45 with Variotop, is a first generation of fiberglass boats made by Linssen. Powered by a pair of Volvo Penta TAMD74P turbo diesel inboards. Straight Up has a deep Vee hull and the aft cockpit features a teak sole. The bow is accessed with a walk-around either side deck, while the bridge deck, equipped with a powered convertible top, is fully enclosed with access through a sliding door. Her air-conditioned bridge deck has L shaped seating, a table and a fully outfitted wet bar. The main salon, which is also air conditioned, is accessed by stepping through the helm. The dinette/ settee is to starboard with L shaped seating, a table, stereo system and widescreen TV. The guest berth is to port with twin beds, hanging lockers and storage. The galley, also to port, is further forward. There are two heads forward one on the port side and one to starboard and the air conditioned master suite is forward with double berth. -2

3ENGINE OPERATIONS 3. ENGINE CHECKS Prior to starting any engine the following must be performed: Check engine oil level. The dipstick is located at the base of the Main Engine inboard above the battery bank. 2 Check coolant reservoirs located forward of each engine (min-max level) also remove the coolant cap on each engine to inspect level (coolant should be at the rim where cap seats on engine). 2 Engine Dipstick Oil Cap on Engine Coolant Cap on Engine 3-
3 Inspect all sea strainers for cleanliness. There should be no debris in the strainer and water level should be full up to glass inspection port. After starting engines these should be rechecked for circulation. 4 Once the engine has warmed up, check transmission fluid level. ENGINE OPERATIONS (continued) 3.2 STARTING/STOPPING The vessel must be in neutral to begin this sequence. EDC Volvo Penta Electrical Start: The engines must be in neutral 2 Turn both keys one position clockwise 3 4 3 Press the key icon for three seconds on the EDC panel 4 Two red lights will display on either side of the key icon 2 5 6 5 A green light will appear above the N for neutral, this activates the Engine Room blower 6 Turn each key clockwise until the engines start, after starting a blue light will appear above the = icon 7 Engage throttles 3-3

GENERATOR Generator checks: 2 Oil 2 Coolant 3 Sea strainer The generator controls are located on the generator panel located in the saloon to starboard and a second set in the engine room located starboard of the generator, there is a single isolated 2Volt cranking battery located in the battery bank amidships in the engine room. 3 (continued on next page) 4-
ELECTRICAL MANAGEMENT (continued) The generator can be started at the unit and shut down remotely from the panel located inside the saloon. To start the genset on the unit: Hold down the prime/power toggle for approx. 3 seconds 2 Depress in the opposite direction to start, make sure you hold the toggle down until the genset has completely started. To start the unit on the remote panel : Emergency Off Switch 2 Hold down the prime/power toggle for approx. 3 seconds Depress in the opposite direction to start, make sure you hold the toggle down until the genset has completely started. Once the genset is running you will be able to load items onto this AC Power. 4-2
4.2 AC/DC All AC/DC power is activated and controlled from the panel located in the saloon to starboard. AC Power There are two options for the AC power. 2 Shore Power connected from the aft cockpit to a dock supply of 50AMP, or using the Onan Generator. If the Generator is running, the system will default to this source over shore power. AC Power Cord DC Power There are two 2Volt House batteries paralleled located in the starboard lazarette creating a House 24Volt system. This system can be activated by turning the House 24V system on in the Saloon. Once this switch is on all DC items will draw directly from the house batteries. House Battery Bank 4-3

5H 2 0 SYSTEMS 5. HEAD There are two heads on this vessel, one forward to Port, second amidships starboard. There is a flush control switch mounted on the bulkhead next to each head. The control switch has red button for flushing, a toggle switch below for filling water or draining. The fresh water pump needs to be on for system to work. This vessel does not have a separate FWD/Aft head switch. 5-
