Chapter 3 Remote Viewing Using Web Browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer Only) 1. The following requirements must be met in order to view remote webcam: a. Windows XP Service Pack 2/Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows Vista or Windows 7 b. Microsoft Internet Explorer v7 or Higher(no other browsers supported) c. Ports 4550 & 5550 have to be open on your outgoing firewall. This is however only applicable behind a firewall. Contact your IT Department to arrange access. d. Please note that some antivirus software my block connection to the webcam service. e. Please note that some personal firewalls, including Windows Firewall, may also block connection. 2. On Windows Vista and Windows 7, User Account Control has to be configured. a. Windows has introduced a system where the user has the opportunity to disallow an installation. This is called User Account Control. The software needed to view webcam, conflicts with this feature. Please disable the feature temporarily to allow the software to install. b. See Steps below for Windows 7. Right click anywhere on the Windows desktop and select Personalize
From the menu to the left, select Control Panel Home. Select User Accounts and Family Safety.
Select User Accounts. Select Change User Account Control Settings
Lower the UAC level from Default to Never notify, and click on OK. Next, restart your PC to apply the setting.
c. See steps Below for Windows Vista 1. Click Start and then open Control Panel. 2. In the Control Panel, click User Accounts and Family Safety. 3. Click User Accounts. 4. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. 5. Clear the tick or check mark on the box beside the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option. 6. Click OK. 7. When prompted, restart the computer. Note that the changes will affect all users on the computer. 8. To enable the UAC, simply tick or select the checkbox again.
3. Editing Security Settings in Microsoft Internet Explorer a. Settings for Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 a. Open Internet Explorer. b. Select the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
c. Click on the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window. d. Make Sure that The Internet zone is highlighted.
e. Click on the Custom Level button as illustrated below f. This will open the Security Settings Internet Zone screen. Scroll down the Settings list until you reach the settings that enable active X controls. The following two settings need to be set to "Prompt" ii. Download unsigned ActiveX Controls iii. Initialize and script ActiveX controls not market as safe for scripting
g. Ensure that Protected Mode is disabled. h. When you are done. Press OK. Then OK again to save those settings. Windows may ask you to also confirm that you want to change these settings. Confirm. i. Restart your computer.

c. Click on the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window. d. Make sure that The Internet zone is highlighted.

3. Setting up Compatibility View For Internet Explorer V11 and up. To enable viewing on Internet Explorer V11 and up compatibility view must be used. Open the webcam page for the centre. You will notice a login screen. Click on the Settings Button and select Compatibility View Settings
In the text box enter the centre url as in the address bar above and click on Add An entry called dyndns.org will be created Close box and restart Internet Explorer.
4. Geovision Remote WebCam Access From Microsoft Internet Explorer a. Now that the Geovision webcam server is setup, you can access your cameras remotely using the Internet Explorer web browser. b. Open Internet Explorer and go to www.optibabykids.co.za Browse to the relevant centre s webcam page. Ensure the system is online and click to enter c. Please enter your username and password as supplied by the centre. d. Please note that between some of these steps, setup prompts will appear. Click install/allow on all of them to enable viewing. The prompts will differ from computers.
e. Upon successful entry of username and password the following screen will appear. f. Close the message box and click on the message bar. Install the ActiveX Control.
g. You will be prompted as below. Click on retry. The page has to reload to enable the ActiveX Component. h. The page will reload and the following message will appear. Click on install.
i. The installation of the ActiveX Component will initialize and start installing. This will only be done on the first visit of the site. Please be patient. Downloading speeds will depend on the internet connection used. j. As soon as the installation completes you will see the following dialog. Close the message box and run the ActiveX Control on the following window.
k. You will be prompted to Retry loading. Please retry to enable ActiveX Component. l. Please wait for the page to reload. You should be able to see a live view.
m. To change the camera, click on the following button and select appropriate camera. n. To take snapshots, click on the following button.

Using BlackBerry Phone 1. With the GV BBView V1.1, you can remotely view live video. 2. Installing GV BBView V1.1 a. From your Balckberry, open AppWorld and search for GV BBView b. Download and Install App. 3. Using GV BBView a. Click the GV BBView V1.1 application on your phone, select Create Live Connection. The Login screen appears. b. Enter a Name of your choice. This is the name of the connection that will be saved. c. Enter the IP address, port value (default value is 8866), a username and a password to log ingv System.

g. Select the desired camera and select it again to access the live view. h. To change to another camera, select Change Option, and follow Step g. Using Iphone/Ipad GV iview function is introduced to support iphone, ipod Touch and ipad for the mobile surveillance application.
1. Installing GV iview a. GV iview can be installed from the AppStore or Itunes. b. Search for and install GV iview. c. Start GV iview on the mobile device d. On the login screen, enter the IP address of the GV System, port value (default value is 8866), ID and Password. Then press Connect. Once the connection is established, the live display of 6 cameras will appear. e. On the login screen you can find the My Favorite option, allowing you to add several links of GV System servers for quick connections. Up to 50 links can be created. Using Android Devices You can now access GV-System using Android version 2.2 to 4.0.2 to watch live view. Download GV-AView from Android Market, and after installing the application, the GV-AView icon will appear on the desktop. Follow the steps below to access a GV-System. 1. Connecting to GV System a. On your mobile phone, tap the GV AView icon on the main page. This page appears. b. Type the IP address, port number, user name and password of the GV System you want to access. And then tap the Add button to save the connection information in the address book
