Application Process 1. Complete the cadet application packet in its entirety. Print legibly and neatly. 2. Obtain from your guidance counselor an application for the career center. Complete it and return both the Eastland-Fairfield application AND the cadet application to your counselor. 3. Obtaining letters of recommendation from teachers, friends, and people in the law enforcement industry is highly encouraged. They can be included with the application. No one will be considered for acceptance into the program without completing the entire process! CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAM STANDARDS /EXPECTATIONS 1. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES: Cadets are considered to be in the public eye at all times while on school grounds and/or wearing the uniform. Cadets will conduct themselves accordingly and not participate in any activity that would bring embarrassment to the school or the Criminal Justice program. In addition, Cadets have the opportunity to provide community service alongside area law enforcement agencies. It is important to EFCTS and those agencies that cadets carry themselves utilizing the program s five core values: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Excellence. 2. DRESS CODE: Cadets must adhere to the program s dress code and hair policy at all times and is in effect during the entire school day to include academic classes. This includes: HAIR POLICY-the hairstyles of all cadets are to look professional at all times. The instructor must approve any unusual hairstyle. All cadets will keep their hair clean and avoid any unusual hair colors. Hair for females should be up in either a bun or ponytail unless short enough to not touch the collar. Males should have the hair short, not touching the ears. Hair must not be worn below the collar. Males are only permitted to have a mustache as facial hair (no beards, muttin chops, etc.). JEWELRY-all cadets may wear one (1) ring per hand. A watch and a bracelet may be worn. Necklaces may be worn but must be kept under the uniform shirt so as not to be visible. Female cadets may wear one (1) small post earring in each ear. Males should not wear any earrings. No facial piercings or tongue piercings are allowed. No gauges of any kind. No jewelry may be worn during physical training or activity. 3. PHYSICAL FITNESS: Cadets will participate in physical fitness activities a minimum of 3 days a week and will practice good hygiene afterwards to look professional in the uniform. 4. SHOW OF RESPECT: Cadets will adhere to the courtesies of military and police academy standards at all times. Cadets will address all adults with whom they come in contact in the following manner: Sir (Yes Sir or No Sir), or Ma am (Yes Ma am or No Ma am). This includes all faculty and visitors.
