Product Product description: Hot finished structural hollow sections used in construction works. Technical data: imensions: Square HS: 40x3 400x20. Rectangular HS: 50x30x3,2 500x300x20 and Circular HS: 21,3x2 711x20. Steel grade S355. EN 10210 is applied. Product specification Hot finished structural hollow sections are made by European manufacturers. Materials steel 1 % 100 Market: Norway Reference service life: 100 years LCA: Calculation rules Functional unit: Per steel components with an expected service life of 100 years System boundary: Cradle to gate (A1A3) and endoflife recycling () ata quality: General requirements and guidelines concerning use of generic and specific data and the quality of those are as described in EN 15804: 2012, clause 6.3.6 and 6.3.7. The data is representative according to temporal, geographical and technological requirements. Temporal: ata for use in modules A1A2 has been collected throughout 2013. Generic data has been created or updated within the last 10 years. Cutoff criteria: All major raw materials and all the essential energy is included. The production process for raw materials and energy flows that are included with very small amounts (<1%) are not included. This cutoff rule does not apply for hazardous materials and substances. Allocation: No allocation necessary in this study. Geographical: The geographic region of the production sites included in the calculation is Europe. Technological: ata represents technology in use. LCA: Scenarios and additional technical information Additional modules to the cradle to gate system are not declared. Therefore, no additional information is reported. Benefits and loads beyond the system boundaries () Unit Value GWP CO 2 eqv 1,36E+00 OP CFC11eqv 6,42E09 AP SO 2 eqv 2,50E03 EP PO 3 4 eqv 4,33E07 POCP NMVOC 2,51E03 APM Sb eqv 2,46E08 APE 1,38E+01 Module is calculated as a scenario in which the net new steel scrap received in Module is given an environmental burden. This burden is subtracted from this system as a credit, representing the environmental benefit from recycling the steel structure at its end of life. Including Module will therefore show the total environmental performance of the product for the whole life cycle. NEP 00254E Hot finished structural hollow sections Type 4.1 Norsk Stålforbund 3

LCA: Results The impacts generated due to the life cycle stages described in the system boundaries below are calculated using the GaBi 6 Professional LCA software. The impact assessment methodology used is ReCiPe. Exceptions are for the AP elements and AP fossil categories, which according to NPCR 013 are to be derived from the CML 2001 impact assessment methodology.
