B Note Prg Chg 1 Prg Chg 2 Prg Chg 3 Prg Chg 4 Prg Chg 5 Fig. 1 : Global Configuration All global MIDI functions and MIDI channels have to be adjusted in global configuration. These adjustments are valid for ALL PRESETS. In the factory condition, all global functions are set to midi channel 1. The assignment of these midi channels depends entirely on the configuration of your other MIDI equipment. When you re running for example 4 different pieces of equipment, you have to adjust the midi channels on your external devices, as well as on your FCB1010. 2

Global Programming : The procedure is always the same : 1. Press the down button for 2-3 seconds while powering up the FCB1010. Now you re in global configuration mode. The direct select LED will light up. 2. Press the UP button once. The midi function LED will flash. 3. Select the function you would like to change (button 1-10). The red LED on this button will start to flash now. You can read the actual midi channel for this function in the display now. 4. If you want to change this midi channel, press the enter ( UP ) button to confirm. 5. Now you can change the midi channel number for the function you ve selected. 6. Press the enter ( UP ) button to confirm. If you would like to change more midi channels, press the enter ( UP ) button several times, until the green midi function LED is flashing again, and follow the same procedure. Once you ve adjusted all midi channels, press the down button 2-3 seconds to leave the global configuration mode. NOTE : The functions and channels you ve selected in the global configuration, are defined for ALL PRESETS! So it is not possible to send expression pedal A in preset 1 to midi channel 1, and in preset 2 to midi channel 2, etc. 3

B Value 2 Note Prg Chg 1 Prg Chg 2 Prg Chg 3 Prg Chg 4 Prg Chg 5 Fig. 2 : Preset programming Each preset can send out : 2 relay contacts 5 program changes (1-5) 2 control changes (6-7) 2 continuous controllers on the expression pedals (8-9) 1 midi note (10) Make sure you ve first setup the global configuration correct, before you start programming your presets.. 4

PRESET PROGRAMMING : 1. Select the preset you would like to edit. 2. Press the down button for 2-3 seconds, to enter the preset configuration mode. 3. The green LED for switch 1-2 will flash now. If you want to use the relay switches in this preset, you can activate/deactivate them by pressing pedal 1 and/or 2. Once set, press enter ( UP ) to confirm. 4. The green select LED will now light up, together with those red LED s which determine which MIDI commands are to be transmitted when you select this preset. In factory condition, these will be : PROG CHG 1, EXP A and EXP B. If you want to transmit other commands in this preset, press the relevant functions (pedals) so that the red LED lights up (2-3 seconds). 5. To set the values of these commands, press the function you would like to edit. The red LED in the pedal of the selected function will start to flash now. Confirm with enter ( UP ). 6. Look at the table on top of this page. You ll find all the possible values to edit. Fill in the required values, and always confirm with enter ( UP ). 7. When all values have been entered, leave the preset configuration by pressing the down button for 2-3 seconds. Your preset is stored now. 5

EXAMPLE CONFIGURATION Midi Out Midi In Midi Thru Multi-effect 1. : MIDI receive channel 1 Midi In Midi Thru Multi-effect 2. MIDI receive channel 2 Midi In V-AMP. : MIDI receive channel 3 Fig. 3 : Example In this configuration you ll see : 2 multi effects VIRTUALIZER DSP2024 BEHRINGER 1 virtual guitar amp V-AMP 2 BEHRINGER 1 foot controller FCB1010 BEHRINGER We want to send 3 different program changes, we use EXP A for the V-AMP, and EXP B for Virtualizer Pro #2. 6

Global Programming : 1. Go into Global mode by keeping the down button pressed while powering up. 2. Press enter to go to the midi function page. Press pedal 1 to adjust the midi channel for program change 1. Press enter, and fill in 1. Press enter to confirm. Press enter several times until you return in the midi function page. Do the same for Program change 2 and 3. (Fill in midi channel 2 &3 of course). 3. Select EXP A button (8) in midi function mode, to adjust midi channel 1. 4. Do the same for EXP B (9), and adjust it to midi channel 2. 5. GLOBAL Editing for this configuration is done now. Now you can program you presets. Of course this will all depend on which program change you want to send to which device. For example, preset 1 must do the following : Select patch 23 on unit 1 Select patch 56 on unit 2, EXP B is mix value wet/dry of the DSP2024P Select patch 12 on the V_AMP, EXP A will control the volume on the V-amp Programming the preset (unit has it s original factory presets) 1. Select preset 1 2. Hold the down button for 2-3 seconds. 3. Press the enter button once. 4. Keep prog chg 1 (1) pressed until red LED lights, do the same for 3. 5. Press switch 1 short, red LED will flash. Press enter, and fill in program change value 23. Press enter to confirm. 6. Press switch 2 short, red LED will flash. Press enter, and fill in program change value 56. Press enter to confirm. 7. Press switch 3 short, red LED will flash. Press enter, and fill in program change value 12. Press enter to confirm. 8. Press switch 8 short, red LED will flash. Press enter, and fill in the control number for volume change. In most cases this will be controller number # 07. You can find these values in the midi implementation charts of your effect units. Press enter. Fill in the lower value, most of the time it will be 00. Press enter. Fill in the highest value, mostly 127. Enter to confirm. Do the same for EXP B (9). 9. Press down button for 2-3 seconds, preset is stored now. 7
