Important update: To continue logging in from T-Mobile HotSpot locations, you will need to update the T-Mobile HotSpot Login Utility on your Dash. This upgrade takes only a few minutes. There are two ways to download this software update -- please select one: 1. If you have Internet access from your T-Mobile Dash, you can download and install directly to your phone. Get device download instructions. 2. With Internet access from your PC, you can download the file to your PC and then use ActiveSync to transfer the file to your Dash. Get PC download instructions. If you have set up your HotSpot Login Utility with your username and password, these settings will remain after this update. If you have updated the advanced settings on the device, you will need to reset these values. Learn more about the HotSpot Login Utility Settings. Still using Windows Mobile 5? First, please visit http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ to install Windows Mobile 6. Then follow the login utility update instructions below. Not sure which version of Windows Mobile you re using? Go here: http://support.tmobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm23434.htm To download and install directly to your phone Make sure you have access to the Internet, either via the T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE network, or via WiFi. Begin at the Home screen. Refer to your User Manual for details on how to connect. Select Start. 1

Navigate to and select Internet Explorer. Select Address Bar from the Menu. Enter the url: http://www.tmobile.com/hotspotupdate s Select Go. 2

Select the Download link to download the file to your Dash. Note: Updates are available for several devices. Be sure to select the T-Mobile Dash link. Select Yes to confirm that you want to download the update to the My Documents folder on your Dash. If you are prompted, select Yes when asked if you want to replace an existing file. 3

This screen shows you the progress of the download. The installation screen will appear briefly. If you are prompted, select OK when asked if you want to remove a previous version of the T- Mobile HotSpot Login Utility. 4

The installation screen will appear briefly. If you have a Storage Card in your Dash, you will see this screen. Make sure Device is selected Select Install to begin the installation process. Note: If your device is full, you will need to create space to complete this installation. The installation progress screen displays while the installation completes. 5

Installation is complete and successful. Select OK to restart your device and begin using the updated HotSpot login utility. If you have already configured your HotSpot utility with your username and password, these settings will remain. To download to your PC, then install on your phone Make sure you have access to the Internet from your PC. Open your Web browser and go to: http://www.t-mobile.com/hotspotupdates Select the Download link to download the file to your PC. Note: Updates are available for several devices. Be sure to select the T-Mobile Dash link. Select the Instructions link to view these step by step instructions. Select Save. 7

Select the location on your PC where you want the file to be saved. Click Save. Connect your Dash to your PC with the USB cable to start ActiveSync. Copy the file tmo_shadow_dash_hotspotupdate_2.5.0.2.cab from your PC into the My Documents folder on your phone. Note: Please refer to your User Manual for detailed instructions on using ActiveSync and copying files to your device. Disconnect your Dash from your PC. On your Dash, Begin at the home screen. Select Start. 8

Select File Explorer. If you are not in the My Documents Folder, navigate to the My Documents folder. Use the scroll wheel to select the file tmo_shadow_dash_hotspotupdate_2.5.0.2.cab Use the center button to run the file. Installation will begin. 9

To review/update the HotSpot Login Utility settings: Select Start from the Home Screen, then locate and open the T-Mobile HotSpot Folder. Select HotSpot Settings. If you entered your username and password before updating your HotSpot Login Utility, these values are retained. 12

To review/update all settings: Select Menu Advanced Settings. Makes any desired changes. Select OK. 13
