Speakers Prof. Dr. Ata Anıl Prof. Ata Anıl graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1987 and worked in periodontology department for two years. In 1990, he started his PhD in implantology at Mainz University, Germany and obtained his PhD in 1994. He got his title of Associate Professor in 1997 from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, and Department of Oral Implantology. From 2001 to 2007, he instructed at Berlin University Charite. Between 2008 and 2013, he was an academician at Esthetics Master Program of Steinbeis University and an instructor of implantology in Mainz Chamber of Dentists. Usage of Biomaterials in Esthetic Implants. When? Which Biomaterial? It is a well-known method to use biomaterials to increase bone in order to achieve long term success in implants. For the bone defects and dehiscence due to tooth extraction use of resorbable biomaterials and membrane provide successful results. However, loss of vestibule lamina is another problem pursuant to tooth extraction. The loss of the main bone results with gingival recession and esthetic problems. In the treatment of the mentioned part bovine origin resorbable biomaterial and connective tissue combinations give successful results. Bovine origin graft with strong fixation feature and connective tissue with better blood supply are good treatment methods against gingival recession. In sum, the speech explains which biomaterials, membrane and connective tissues to be used in esthetic implants of frontal areas and when to use them.... Assoc. Prof. Dr. med. dent. Adrian Kasaj 1994-2000 School of Dental Medicine. 2000-2001 Dentist in a private practice in Neustadt, Germany. 2001-2009 Research associate at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Mainz. 2001 Doctorate (Dr. med. dent.) at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Mainz. 2002-2005 Postgraduate Education in Periodontology at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Mainz. 2006 Specialist in Periodontology of the German Society of Periodontology (DGP/ EFP). 2007 Specialist in Periodontology of the European Dental Association (EDA). 2009 Habilitation (PhD equivalent). 2009 Associate Professor at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Mainz. New trends in the treatment of gingival recessions. Gingival recession with the exposure of root surfaces remains a widespread finding in the general patient population and requires treatment due to aesthetic concerns or root sensitivity. In recent years, a variety of surgical procedures have been proposed to obtain root coverage and increase the width of attached gingiva, including pedicle flaps such as coronally or laterally advanced flaps, free gingival grafts, and subepithelial connective tissue grafts. In terms of root coverage and gain in keratinized tissue, the connective tissue graft (CTG) is the most predictable procedure and considered as the gold standard for root coverage care. However, major shortcomings of harvesting CTGs are patient morbidity associated with the second surgical site, as well as the limited supply of donor tissue for the treatment of multiple recession defects. More recently, the use of 3D collagen matrices of porcine origin has been introduced as a softtissue graft substitute and possible alternative to CTG in periodontal plastic surgery. The various soft tissue grafting techniques and the expanding role of 3D collagen matrices in the treatment of single and multiple gingival recessions will be reviewed and discussed in this presentation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stavros Pelekanos Dr. Stavros Pelekanos received his undergraduate degree in Dentistry (D.D.S.) in 1991 from the University of Athens, Greece. In 1993, he obtained his doctoral degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Freiburg (Prof. Dr. J.R. Strub), Germany. Dr. Pelekanos established a private practice in Athens, oriented towards prosthodontics, implantology and esthetic dentistry. He became Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics, Dental School, University of Athens, Greece. Since 2013 he is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). His professional affiliations include: the International College of Prosthodontics (ICP), European Prosthodontic Association (EPA), Greek Prosthodontic Association and many others. He is a faculty member of gide Institute (Global Institute of Dental Education, Los Angeles) lecturing internationally and performing hands on courses on implants, esthetics and restorative procedures.

Speakers Assoc. Prof. Dr. med. Aleš Vesnaver Dr. Vesnaver studied at the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana and was employed at the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, University Medical Centre Ljubljana, since 1996. He completed his Masters Studies during his residency in 1998 and in 2000 became Specialist Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is also an assistant professor for Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at the Ljubljana Faculty of Medicine. He completed fellowships at the Craniofacial Center of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan and at the Maxillofacial Department of Sint Jan s Hospital, Brugge, Belgium. Within maxillofacial surgery, his main fields are maxillofacial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorders, laser surgery and post-traumatic reconstructions. Reconstruction of fixed gingiva around implants using local flaps, autologous transplants or xenotransplants. For successful long- term outcome of dental implants, it is necessarry for the implants to be surrounded by a cuff of thick, rigid mucosa. This is often a problem in patients with prolonged edentulousness in the mandible, where the diameter of the strip of fixed, keratinized mucosa can be only 2 mm or less. Sometimes, the problem is encountered in the maxilla as well. Various techniques and tips of how to achieve fixed gingiva around the implants in these challenging cases will be presented.... Dr. med. dent. Orcan Yüksel He studied at Frankfurt Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and Istanbul University. He graduated from Faculty of Dentistry of Istanbul University in 1987. Later on, he got his PhD from Frankfurt University. He has been specialized in dental esthetics and implantology since 1993 and works at his private clinic in Frankfurt. Dealling with development of bonering technique since 2009, Dr. Yüksel is also a certified instructor of European Association of Dental Implantologists (BDIZ/EDI). He has given more than 200 speeches as an international speaker and had several publications. He is also an instructor at Frankfurt University Curriculum and Master programs. Updated bone ring technique: New results after 5 years with allografts in 3-dimensional augmentation procedures. The bonering technique can also be used with pre-fabricated rings of processed allogenic donor bone. The allograft bonering technique allows bone augmentation and implantation in a one-stage procedure like the classical bonering technique. Allograft Bonerings available worldwide only from botiss maxgraft is an alternative to many other techniques. The pain, risk of infection, morbidity and the operation-time can be significantly reduced. The usage of bone from the tissue bank is easier for the surgeon and patient. The bonering with allografts are showing after 5 years clinical usage good results for both, vertical and horizontal augmentation. A highly vital bone formation in the allograft is visible in biopsies taken after six and later. This and more of the clinical results will be discussed in this presentation. A step by step protocol and details with new indications will be shown. To improve the success it is important to use the right suture technique and a tension-free wound closure. With the usage of PRF the healing can be improved. All details will be demonstrated. The simplifying of the surgical treatment of 3-dimensional bone defects is now possible with this recommended technique. Enhancing the implant site and developing the transmucosal contour Perio- prosthetic approach and new perspectives. Successful implant restorations in the esthetic zone require often demanding surgical and prosthetic therapeutic procedures in order to achieve long term stable results. Anatomical factors such as the thin buccal bone plate, the thin soft tissues and the high scalloping further complicate the decision-making and the treatment workflow. Despite the clinical and scientific evidence the clinical handling and the treatment sequence and workflow is of outmost importance determining the final outcome of the implant restoration. The soft and/or hard tissue enhancement in the majority if not all of the cases in the esthetic zone is absolutely necessary in order to achieve a highly esthetic and natural appearance of the implant crown. The timing, the material selection and the type of the prosthetic restoration further complicate the decision-making and affect the final result. The aim of this lecture is to analyze and categorize different treatment modalities, focus on the methodology and treatment workflow in esthetic implant cases and give some guidelines to achieve optimum esthetic results.
