Prerequisites Refer to the DAVIE Service Tools Quick Start Guide which accompanied your DAVIE Kit. To complete this installation you will need the following parts: Windows XP Pro SP2 Computer with the following access Windows XP and Windows 7-32 bit are the only operating systems supported by DAVIE o Administrative rights o Internet access o Email access and email address Workshop File received from PACCAR Dealer Services Group. DAVIEInstallation.exe File downloaded from provided links. The following files are bundled in the executable o DAVIE Runtime (RT) o DAVIE After Sales Application (ASA) o DAVIE Parts Rapido Subset (PRS) DAVIE Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) Kit Access to truck Printed copy of DAVIE Installation Guide DAVIE VCI Kit Contents Blue VCI 9 Pin Deutsch Diagnostic Cable Serial Cable DAVIE Service Tool Quick Start Guide Page 3 of 21
Installation of the DAVIE Runtime This section provides instruction for installing the DAVIE Runtime component. Before you begin please confirm that you have all of the required items listed in the Prerequisites section. The Installation procedure will reboot the PC at the conclusion of installing the Runtime Application. Ensure that the installation procedure is the only application that is running. This will ensure all goes well. If you have not downloaded the DAVIEInstallation.exe file, please do so now. 1. If using a laptop computer, connect the power adapter to the laptop and outlet until the installation is complete. 2. Log in to the computer using an user account with Windows administrative rights. 3. Navigate to where you saved the DAVIEInstallation.exe file; double-click the file to open. Click Unzip. The self extraction wizard will start and create the folder C:\DAVIEUpdates. 4. Run Setup.exe found in C:\DAVIEUpdates\DAVIE_Runtime The path to the DAVIE_Runtime folder CANNOT have any spaces in it. 5. On the Choose Setup Language window, select the desired language. Press <OK> to continue setup. Page 4 of 21
6. On the Welcome to the DAVIE installation Wizard window. Press <Next> to continue setup. 7. Review the License Agreement and select the I accept radio button. Press <Next> to continue. 8. Review the Readme file and press <Next> to continue setup. Page 5 of 21
9. Modify the user information fields if needed and then press <Next> to continue setup. 10. Press <Next> to begin installation. Note: DAVIE will begin installing. This will take a few minutes depending on the speed of your computer. Page 6 of 21
11. Select the appropriate country from the list. Press <Finish> to continue. (For Canadian service centers, select United States of America). 12. If a truck is available, connect the PACCAR VCI to the PC and to the truck. Installation of the VCI drivers will occur. If a truck is not available, click the red X. A warning message will be displayed stating that DAVIE will not be functional until the VCI drivers are installed. If you want to by-pass this step at this time, click Yes. Otherwise connect the VCI to PC & Truck and click No. Note: DAVIE installation will continue Page 7 of 21
13. DAVIE Setup will display a message that it was installed successfully. 14. If no other applications are running and it is safe to reboot the PC, ensure Yes, I want to restart the computer now is selected. This will allow DAVIE complete its installation processes. 15. If PC has other applications that need to continue to run, select No, I want to restart the computer later. 16. Press <Finish> to complete setup. Note: The PC needs to reboot after installation to complete DAVIE configurations. This is necessary to configure the windows settings properly. Configure the DAVIE Runtime This section provides instructions for loading your WorkShop File and setting up the DAVIE user accounts. If you have not contacted the PACCAR Dealer Service Group for your WorkShop file, please do so now. You cannot continue the installation without the WorkShop file. 1. In Microsoft Outlook, locate the email you received from the PACCAR Dealer Services Group which contains your workshop file as an attachment. 2. Save the attachment, named WKScode, to the folder C:\DAVIEUpdates. 3. Copy the WKScode file from the folder C:\DAVIEUpdates and paste it in the following folder: C:\DAVIE\hdldata. Page 8 of 21
4. From the Desktop, double-click the DAVIE icon. 5. Press the <Login> button 6. Login with the ADMIN User ID: type <ADMIN> 7. Press <ENTER> Page 9 of 21
8. Password: type <ADMIN> 9. Press <ENTER> Note: The password area will change to a blank line and you should now enter a new password. 10. Type a new password for the ADMIN User ID 11. Press <ENTER> 12. Press the <Administration> button to enter the administration mode Page 10 of 21
13. Select <Passwords> from the Administrator menu. This option allows you to create new User IDs and assign Passwords. 14. Create two User IDs and assign a password to each. Assign one ID Senior Technician access Assign second ID Master Technician access. 15. When all required users are entered, exit the function by pressing <Back>. You are returned to "Administration" screen. User ID Descriptions: Senior Technician access is diagnostic only, no ability to programming. Master Technician access is diagnostic and has the ability to program parameters to the ECU s. Administrator access has rights to add users and to set the passwords. Useful Tips: User IDs and Password Administration In the "Passwords" screen, User IDs and passwords can be added and changed. All entered users are displayed with their user levels and hidden passwords. To edit an entry, select the relevant element in the "User ID" column. A dialog box opens in which you can edit the user level of the selected user. To add an additional user, select an empty element in the "User ID" column. To enter or change passwords, select the corresponding element in the "Password" column. a virtual keyboard appears and a new user can be typed in or a selected one can be changed.in the "Passwords" screen, Configure the DAVIE AfterSales Application This section provides instruction for installing the AfterSales Application (ASA) module of DAVIE. 1. Press on the <Login> button 2. Login with the ADMIN User ID and password. Press <Enter> 3. Press the <Administration> button to enter the administration mode Page 12 of 21
4. Press <Install update> to install the Application. 5. The Select folder window opens. Select your Local Disc (C:). Then select DAVIEUpdates. 6. Select DAVIE_Application 7. For English: Choose the usa folder For Spanish: Choose the lsp folder For French: Chose the cfr folder Page 13 of 21
8. Select label file and press <Open>. 9. Press <OK> Note: Setup files will run. Page 14 of 21
Note: When setup is complete; you will then be returned to the Logon screen. Please note that the Logon screen now displays an Application reference. DAVIE Parts Rapido (PRS) Installation This section provides instruction for installing the Parts Rapido Subset (PRS) module of DAVIE. 1. Press on <Administrator>. Page 15 of 21
2. Press <Install update> to install the Application. 3. The Select folder window opens. In the Look in: field select Local Disc (C:). 4. Select DAVIEUpdates from the displayed list. 5. Select the folder DAVIE_PRS. 6. Select the label file and then. Press <Open>. Page 16 of 21

Note: When setup is complete; you will then be returned to the Logon screen. Please note that the logon screen now displays a PRS reference. The DAVIE application has been installed and configured. Close the application before connecting to a chassis Page 18 of 21
VCI Driver Installation To complete this section, you must connect to a truck. Before connecting, make sure the DAVIE application is closed. This section is required when the VCI check during Runtime Installation (Step 12) was by-passed (red x clicked) because a truck was not available at the time. 1. Using the 9 Pin Deutsch Diagnostic Cable connect the blue VCI to a truck 2. Using the serial cable (end has a USB connector), connect the VCI to the laptop. 3. Turn the truck key to the ON position. The window Found New Hardware opens on the laptop. 4. If you are prompted Can Windows connect. select the radio button No not this time and press <Next>. Page 19 of 21

The tray icon could display the status of the program. USB is an abbreviation for Universal Serial Bus. The blue VCI cable communication is released via USB with a cable. The DAVIE communicates with the ECU's installed in the truck via the truck side "Diagnostic Connector" by using a special communication interface, called the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI). These are the cables which have to be connected between the VCI and vehicle. The workshop file is a license file which is required before the ADMIN user ID can log in to DAVIE for the first time.
