General AMADEUS contains detailed information on 4 million public and private companies in 34 European countries. The Internet version incorporates both easy and advanced searching options for both expert and end users. Since its launch in 1994 the coverage has constantly increased. AMADEUS is an extremely flexible product that is ideal for most pan-european company research projects. Content Up to 10 years of detailed information (consolidated statements are also provided when available) in a standardised financial format comprising 22 balance sheet items, 22 profit and loss account items and 21 ratios. The descriptive information includes: official national identification number, address, telephone, fax, website, legal form, year of incorporation, senior managers, auditors, number of employees, quoted/unquoted indicator, industry and activity codes and, when available, a trade description in the local language and English. BvD works with 30 companies to produce AMADEUS. AMADEUS: Analyse MAjor Databases from EUropean Sources - A financial database of 4 million European companies, including Eastern Europe MODULE: MODULE:Search Search companies or groups of companies can be searched using a combination of different criteria, such as: company name, identification number, industry (using the most popular national or international classifications), country, city and region in country, legal form, ownership, number of employees, quoted/unquoted indicator, 14 items of financial data, 21 ratios, trends of 14 items of financial data.
MODULE: List The search result is listed and can be sorted by different criteria, such as: company name, operating revenue / turnover, profit (los) before tax, total assets, cash flow, current ratio, solvency ratio, primary CSO code, ascending/descending.

MODULE: Peer Group Analysis This module lets you compare a company to a peer group (standard or user-defined), using different criteria, such as: currencies, sets of variables, years. Users can also decide to display additional information, such as: median and average of the group, quartiles and deciles, standard deviation of the group.
MODULE: Statistical Analysis AMADEUS offers users statistical analysis tools that enable users to: display the aggregated balance of a group of companies, classify companies using the distribution of a variable, calculate the distribution of a variable for a subset of companies, conduct concentration analysis.

There are a little bit more than 200,000 such companies.
MODULE: Reuters News This new service enables the search of up to 25,000 news articles per month, which can be viewed alongside the company report or as the result of a specific news search. You can search for news articles by key word, country, region, industry and language. This optional module is updated daily for AMADEUS s Internet customers.articles are archived for three months.
MODULE: Mapping Module This new map analysis module allows you to display the results of your search on maps. This is ideal for analysing the geographical penetration of a group of companies by industry or financial variable. A zoom-in facility enables more detailed scrutiny of specific regions and provinces. From the map you can create graphic or tabular representations of the results which can then be re-calculated, saved or printed.
