Analysis Plug-in Settings The following settings are new: EnableAnalysisViewConversion You use this setting to define whether the Conversion tab with the Analysis View Migration setting in the settings dialog is displayed. ShowSsoLogonDialogBip (documentation update) You use this setting to specify whether the Logon dialog box should be displayed when using SSO with the BI platform. CancelPopupDelay You use this setting to specify after how many seconds the cancel dialog should be displayed when a data update is requested from the server (BW and HANA) and the crosstab is redrawn. 4 Analysis Plug-in 4.1 What's New in Analysis Plug-in 2.3 You can find more detailed information on the features listed below in the User guide for the Analysis Plug-in 2.3. Launching the Query Designer for editing a data source You can now access the SAP HANA Web-based Development Workbench editor directly from Analysis. In the editor, you can check and edit HANA calculation views that has been inserted as data source in the current workbook. Defining style sets for crosstabs The style set SAP Blue Crystal is new. The following SAP standard cell styles are new: SAPMessageText SAPFormula Working with formulas The formula SAPSetData is new. You can use it to set planning values. You can either enter values directly or you can refer to another cell in Microsoft Excel that contains the values. In formula SAPGetVariable, the property name BASEINFOOBJECT is new. You can use it to display the technical name of the dimension the variable is based on. Working with macros The API method SAPOpenWorkbook is new. Analyzing data with the design panel: Property View on the Analysis tab You can now enter a new description for single measures, dimensions and hierarchies to rename the data source element. The new description is directly available in the Analysis UI: in the design panel, in the crosstab and in the dialogs, for example the Filter dialog. You can also save new descriptions with a view in Analysis. Depending on the platform you use, this could be a query view, an Analysis view or a HANA view. Analyzing data with the design panel: Information tab For MultiProviders, the field Last Data Update contains two dates. The date when all InfoProviders of the MultiProvider were updated successfully for the last time (LastDataUpdate) and the date when a single InfoProvider of the MultiProvider was updated for the last time (LastDataUpdateMaximum). Analyzing data with the design panel: Components tab The following functions are new: With the property Subsequent Refresh, you can define the behavior for executing Refresh All. With Transaction Data Only (default), only the transactional data is updated for online data sources. With Log Off and Reconnect, the data sources are logged off and reconnected again. Using the context menu, you can manage the system connections on workbook level. You can log off from all systems the workbook is connected to. You can also reconnect to the systems or replace a system with another system here. For planning objects, you can now specify if they should be refreshed when a refresh is executed with Refresh All. The property is called Refresh Planning Objects on Refresh All. Analyzing data with the design panel: Design Rules tab The tab Design Rules is new. You can display and maintain the rules created with Table Design on this tab. You can deactivate and activate rules or delete them. Rules of type Format or NewLine can also be edited from the design panel. You can also change the priority of the rules. The function is available if you use a SAP BW system with release 7.50 SP4 or highter. In former releases, this function is only available for SAP HANA data sources. Canceling a server request With the setting CancelPopupDelay, an administrator can specify after how many seconds the cancel dialog should be displayed when a data update is requested from the server (BW and HANA). You can use this cancel dialog to cancel the server request and go back to the workbook. If you do not cancel the server request, the dialog will disappear automatically when the server request is completed. Planning Data manually For dimensions that are created in BW as characteristics without master data, you can now enter master data in the new lines and create new members in Analysis. New members can only be created in Analysis if the RSADMIN parameter PLAN_ALLOW_NOT_EXIST_MEM is active (value X) in the BW system. In a BW system, RSADMIN parameters are maintained in transaction se38, program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN. Settings In the settings dialog, the Conversion tab is new. It contains the BEx Workbook Conversion (formerly part of the platform settings) and the new Analysis View Migration.
