5 1 Purpose of the Document This document contains information to: Validate that key prerequisites such as software products and versions match the customer situation Check that all prerequisites for a customer implementation are in place Check that correct content, tools and skills are in place before the project starts The document lists different kinds of requirements on package level if they are valid for all scope items included in the package. For requirements valid for certain scope items only, these scope items are mentioned. This SAP HANA Big Data Intelligence rapid-deployment solution is designed for use in different industries and lines of business to address particular use cases for those areas. Software requirements are dependent on your choice of use cases. The uses cases provided by this rapid-deployment solution are: Semantic Intelligence Signal Intelligence for Monitoring and Predictive Analysis Signal Intelligence for Transformer Load Analysis Stream Intelligence for Web Stream Analysis The document contains pre-requisites only, not the procedures to meet them. For how-to information (e.g. how to find the download area) please refer to the configuration guides. 2 General Project Prerequisites The following prerequisites need to be in place before an implementation project can start. Prerequisite Kick off and workshop dates, location and attendees agreed team allocated with correct skills and training in place Project sponsors and stakeholder identified Hardware fully commissioned Software licenses in place Infrastructure team can respond to requests quickly enough e.g. CSS notes, BW content, patches, user requests, authorization changes and transports Remote access is in place for SAP consultants and SAP Active Global Support Decision made whether pre-assembled delivery will be used Tool for project repository and collaboration agreed Test management tool agreed 3 Technical Requirements Responsibility This section contains technical requirements in different areas. 6 All use cases require the edition; though additional requirements are dependent on the particular use case you deploy. 3.1 Software Product Versions The following software products and versions are required: 3.2 Semantic Intelligence Semantic Intelligence (SEI) use case provides sentiment analysis, social analytics, and context reasoning for brand and product marketing, as well as promotion, product, content, category, service, and loyalty management. SAP Data Services SAP DATA SERVICES 4.2 SP05 Server and Designer SAP Data Services (DS) has dependencies on SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) platform (or IPS - Information platform services) for security and user management SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform (ENTERPRISE) SBOP BI platform 4.1 SP02 SBOP BI PLATFORM SERVERS The SBOP BI platform components required by SAP Data Services may optionally be provided by SAP BusinessObjects Information platform services (IPS). SAP HANA Application Function Library (AFL) must be enabled for SAP HANA instance to operate the solution. SAP Smart Data Streaming, if installed, can be used instead of SAP ESP. SAP Event Stream Processor (SAP ESP) SAP ESP platform 5.1 SAP ESP server SAP ESP client tools (needed in case project has to be opened for extensions) Standard platform with SAP Plant Connectivity (PCo) Stream adapter enabled. If SAP Smart Data Streaming is not available, SAP ESP can be used. The configuration of the sample content, provided with the solution, for Hadoop and HIVE is an option that is provided as a proof of concept example for SAP SE Public Page 8 of 10

9 integrating SAP HANA with remote server data, like Hadoop. The sample content s configuration has dependencies on Hadoop and HIVE that is out of SAP support and maintenance. Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Hadoop and HIVE versions or other vendor s Hadoop version is out of scope and not supported by SAP. 3.5 Signal Intelligence for Transformer Load Analysis The Signal Intelligence for Transformer Load Analysis use case provides load analysis for utilities to analyze load spikes and the resulting loss of life of transformers.
