ST in Polar White. THE 4WD THAT S UP FOR ANYTHING Every Nissan Patrol Y61 is powered by a 3.0 litre common rail intercooled turbo-diesel engine, with a gutsy 118kW to give you a high level of torque that s accessible across the rev range. At the flick of a switch you can engage the rear differential lock to tackle even the toughest traction situations; locking both rear wheels to turn in unison, making you master of your domain. With a strong engine, an incredible ride height, changeable 4x4 modes and one of the toughest diffs around, the Nissan Patrol Y61 is just about the most fun you can have on dry, or wet, land. You can shift from 2WD to 4WD on the go, with locking front hubs on the ST model that engages automatically. Front and rear telescopic shock absorbers with a stabiliser bar keep cornering smooth, and heavy duty coil springs give you all-terrain suspension for durability and comfort when the going gets rough. The dual-range transfer gearbox helps you stay in control with a high or low range ratio, low giving you more command in demanding terrain. And if you really need to haul, manual transmission models give you a very impressive 3,200kg braked towing capacity*, so you can take on just about anything. Built safer so you can go harder It s not such a far stretch to say the Nissan Patrol Y61 is built like a tank. A solid steel body (built on a separate ladder chassis), with high strength cabin reinforcement and energy absorbing side structures to protect you when the outside tries to come in. All models come with front driver and passenger SRS airbags, as well as driver and front passenger side-impact SRS airbags. Standard across the range is Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), to prevent wheel lock up when braking and help you maintain steering control. The system even has a gravel sensor that detects the ground surface and adjusts itself accordingly. You also get Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) which senses both under and oversteer, and reduces engine power or increases brake power to help you stay on the straight and narrow. When things get a little slippery the Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) works to apply individual brake force to the wheel losing traction to help slow it down. Power is then redirected to the wheels with greater traction. On top of this, Brake Assist (BA) senses emergency braking and automatically helps to apply maximum braking pressure if needed.
