VAT Reg: 445788013 www.armourcoat.com Product Data Sheet PDS050: ArmourFX polished plaster and decorative paint panels 1 Product Description ArmourFX panels are a decorative modular wall panel system available in a wide range of hand applied polished plaster and decorative paint finishes 2 Composition ArmourFX panels are manufactured from 18mm moisture resistant, Class C or Class B fire rated MDF with a decorative finish applied to the surface. Please refer to specific datasheets for further information regarding finish: PDS1 Polished plaster PDS2 Spatulata PDS3 Armuralia PDS1 Perlata 3 Panel dimension and weight ArmourFX panels are available from 190mm x 190mm up to a maximum size of 1220mm x 3050mm. Finished panels weigh approximately 17.5kg per m2. Final panel thickness is dependent on the specified finish (approx 19mm 21mm). 4 Edging ArmourFX panels are available with 3 edging options: black Perlata; colour-matched matt paint and edgebanding (please note black Perlata is only available on smooth finishes). The full range of edgebanding options can be found in an online catalogue located at http://www.hranipex.co.uk/en/catalogue/ 5 Fixing ArmourFX panels are supplied ready to hang with z clips affixed to the reverse of the panel. Corresponding rails are supplied with the panels for onsite fixing to the substrate. Jigs are available where required to precisely locate rail fixings on site. 6 Suitable Substrates ArmourFX decorative wall panels conform to the specified fire classes but are not intended as a fire barrier. Stud walls The substrate should be constructed from one layer of 12mm (½ ) plywood to allow sufficient purchase for fixings. Visible substrate areas between panels can be painted directly. If fire regulations require a non-combustible barrier the wall can be clad with an appropriately rated fire board. Concrete/Brick/blockwork walls ArmourFX panels can be fixed to solid walls as long as the wall surface is flat and smooth. 7 Substrate Tolerance It is critical that the substrate to which the panels are to be fixed is solid, flat and true without any sudden bumps or deviations. Bumps or flares in the wall will hinder installation and cause misalignment between
panels. If panels are to run around internal or external corners it is important that these corners are vertical otherwise there will be a step/gap between panels. It is recommended that panels are inset from the edge of walls with internal corners to compensate for any tolerance in the substrate construction. Acceptable tolerance +/- 1mm in 600mm (+/- 1/32 in 24 ) & +/- 3mm in 1800mm (+/-⅛ in 72 ). 8 Design Considerations ArmourFX panels are only suitable for internal use or areas that are not exposed to the elements or large temperature fluctuations 8.1 Internal and external corners Internal and external corners are achievable with ArmourFX Polished Plaster Panels. Corners can be achieved with a simple butt joint or a project specific detail. 8.2 Curved walls ArmourFX Polished Plaster panels cannot be fixed to curved walls. Curved walls need to be built out into flat sections to accommodate ArmourFX panels. 8.3 Installation Installation can be carried out by the general contractor or on site joinery contractor. Rails are fixed to the substrate at height intervals matching the clips on the reverse of the panels. 9 Detail Drawings (see following pages) PDS050: ArmourFX polished plaster and decorative paint panels Page 2 of 5 Drawing Description 9.1 Z-clip 9.1.1 3M Dual Lock detail 9.2 Butt joint corner details
