Welcome New dynamism and efficiency for your fleet The pulse of a new-generation compact car from Mercedes-Benz is unmistakable. With the new A-Class, we are ushering in a new era in this segment. The Mercedes-Benz compact sports model is the right product at the right time designed to capture new target groups and markets. With its sporty and emotive design, its unique high-class interior appeal, the world s first iphone integration in a vehicle, and unparalleled driving dynamics, the A-Class raises the bar in the compact class, and can give your fleet special appeal. The new A-Class is not just cool, it s also green. It s the first Mercedes-Benz to boast emissions of just 98 g CO 2 /km* underlining our belief that every new Mercedes must be far more efficient than its predecessor. We are also setting new standards in the compact-executive and executive classes with our new C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition and E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID models. The E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID, available in Saloon or Estate guise, consumes from 4.2 litres/100 km and emits from 109 g CO 2 /km (saloon)*, making it the world s most efficient E-Class of all time. These efficiency champions are an extremely economical and climate-friendly addition to any fleet. Mercedes-Benz is a pioneer when it comes to innovation, efficiency, design and comfort as confirmed by numerous awards from motoring publications and their readers, and positive feedback from customers. Last year, Mercedes-Benz recorded its best sales year in the company s history, with 1.26 million vehicles sold. Another record was broken earlier this year, as the company posted its strongest first-quarter sales of all time. Yours Matthias Lührs Vice President Sales * These figures are provisional. They are not based on an individual model and do not constitute part of the product offer; they are provided solely for purposes of comparison between vehicle models.

The new A-Class The pulse of a new generation

Mercedes-Benz compact sports model Exciting and intelligent: emotive design, dynamic acceleration and high efficiency with emissions as low as 98 g CO 2 /km.* The exterior dynamism at first sight. The new A-Class sits up to 18 centimetres lower on the road than its predecessor. By reinterpreting the classic two-box design, the designers have created an emotive exterior with a distinctly sporty character. The design idiom unveiled on the Concept A CLASS model, to great acclaim around the world, has been retained for the production model. Defined edges and taut surfaces dominate the exterior design of the new A-Class, while the interplay between concave and convex surfaces creates a characteristic light effect and defines the overall All the trim surfaces are galvanised in silver chrome, giving them a genuine metallic finish with a cool touch. In addition to the standard version, which can be tailored with a wealth of options, there are three customised design and equipment lines available: Style, Urban and AMG Sport. The latter the most dynamic version in the model series exudes sporty exclusivity. Highly efficient engines with emissions as low as 98 g CO 2 /km.* A wide range of petrol and diesel engines Dynamic exterior The interior: a new take on sportiness appearance. The A Class sets a new record in its class with a drag coefficient of just 0.27. The interior high-class appeal. The sporty exterior appearance is mirrored by the congenial interior design. The sophisticated design and high-quality materials used in production give the model a unique level of high-class appeal for the compact segment. Innovative multimedia systems lend the A-Class a digital-lifestyle element, with a sophisticated free-standing 17.8 cm display that shows audio functions, maps and websites. The Drive Kit Plus for the iphone, which gives the driver safe and convenient access to the main content on their smartphone, likewise raises the bar in this segment. covers all requirements in terms of power output. These state-of-the-art engines are also the last word when it comes to efficiency: this is the first Mercedes-Benz with an internal combustion engine to emit just 98 g CO 2 /km.* Output ranges from 80 kw (109 hp) for the entry-level diesel model to 155 kw (211 hp) for the new 2.0-litre petrol model. Mercedes-Benz is introducing its innovative CAMTRONIC system in the 1.6-litre petrol engine: adjusting the valve lift on the intake side limits the fresh mixture quantity under part load and reduces fuel consumption. All six engines feature direct injection and the ECO start/stop function as standard. These engines are paired with the new 6-speed manual transmission as standard or, optionally, with the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission, which offers a unique blend of comfort and sportiness. For more information, visit www.mercedes-benz.com/a-class * These figures are provisional. They are not based on an individual model and do not constitute part of the product offer; they are provided solely for purposes of comparison between vehicle models. 5

The exterior of the new A-Class: emotive and sporty Dynamically direct chassis. The dynamism, apparent in the car s design and drive system, is transferred to the road by an impressive chassis, based on a lower centre of gravity and new four-link rear suspension, with the option of 4MATIC all-wheel drive. You can t put a price on safety. The A-Class emphatically proves that safety is not a matter of price at Mercedes-Benz: radar-based COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST and ATTENTION ASSIST are both fitted as standard. Optional extras include additional safety features from larger Mercedes-Benz model series, now available for the A-Class for the first time, such as PRE-SAFE, DISTRONIC PLUS, Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Speed Limit Assist. A-Class in brief The pulse of a new generation: the new A-Class sees Mercedes-Benz ushering in a new era in the compact segment. The compact sports model combines emotive design and dynamism with impressive emission figures as low as 98 g CO 2 /km*. What s more, Mercedes-Benz is the world s first car manufacturer to fully integrate the iphone into the control and display concept. * These figures are provisional. They are not based on an individual model and do not constitute part of the product offer; they are provided solely for purposes of comparison between vehicle models. 6

Award-winner 2012 has been another trailblazing year for the inventor of the automobile in terms of innovation, design, efficiency and comfort as confirmed by numerous awards from motoring publications and their readers. Four models leading the way. Mercedes-Benz is the most successful premium brand among the Retained Value Giants 2016 : the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class, the new M-Class and the CLS were chosen as the cars that retain the most value in their respective segments by Focus Online and Bähr & Fess Forecast. The B 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with a retained value of 57.5 per cent, the ML 250 BlueTec 4matic with 55 per cent and the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 52.5 per cent will have the highest retained value in their respective segments in four year s time. The car with the lowest absolute depreciation in its class is the S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. NEWS Environmental Certificate for the new B-Class. The independent testers at TÜV Süd have certified the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class with a high level of environmental compatibility. The Compact Sports Tourer has received the Environmental Certificate as per ISO Standard TR 14062, based on an extensive life cycle assessment, which documents every environmentally relevant detail. Mercedes-Benz analyses the environmental compatibility of its models over their entire life cycle from production and many years of motoring right up to the point where the end-of-life vehicle is recycled all of which goes far beyond the statutory requirements. The Environmental Certificate and explanatory notes are published in a series of Life Cycle documents which can be viewed at www.mercedes-benz.com. Nine other Mercedes-Benz model series have already been awarded the TÜV Süd Environmental Certificate. Light, aesthetic, luxurious: the new SL. The all-new SL sees Mercedes-Benz continuing a tradition that began 60 years ago. The letters SL have been synonymous with sportiness, style and comfort and with pioneering innovations ever since. The new model is the first SL to be produced almost entirely of aluminium, and is 140 kilograms lighter than the outgoing model. Best cars of 2012. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class is the best off-roader, while the SLS AMG Roadster is the best cabriolet according to the results of a readers poll conducted by the German motoring magazine auto motor und sport. The SLS was crowned Best Car of the Year for the third consecutive year. Around 210,000 people from 14 European countries, China and Brazil voted in the 2012 readers poll. Efficiency Higher output and lower fuel consumption

Beacons of efficiency New engine for the C 180 and optimised E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition the C-Class petrol and E-Class diesel models are more economical than ever. E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition. The E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition, which has been available since March 2012, is one of the most economical cars in its segment. A raft of efficiency-enhancing measures such as the Aerodynamics package, electric power steering (EPS), a longer rearaxle ratio and 205/55 R 16 tyres with low rolling resistance means the model emits just 119 g CO 2 /km, which is ten grams almost eight per cent less than its predecessor, and equivalent to 4.5 litres of diesel per 100 km.* The E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition develops 125 kw (170 hp) and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Half the consumption per horsepower. The enormous efficiency potential harnessed within petrol engines can be seen by looking back at the previous entry-level C-Class and 190 series petrol models. The latter, the forerunner to the C-Class, was launched in 1982 with an output of 66 kw (90 hp) and a fuel consumption of 8.5 l/100 km in the Euro-mix cycle employed at the time. Today, the entry-level C-Class develops a healthy 115 kw (156 hp) but consumes just 5.8 l/100 km. Since 2000, output has been increased by 21 per cent, while fuel consumption has been reduced by 37 per cent. In other words, instead of 0.0729 litres per horsepower, a new C-Class Driving ahead: E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition...... and C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY. An all-new 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine powers the entry-level C-Class. The fuel consumption of 5.8 l/100 km and CO 2 emissions of 136 g/km are around 1 l/100 km and 21 g/km lower than the comparably equipped, outgoing C 180 model making the C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY one of the first petrol models to achieve an efficiency class B rating.* The 115 kw (156 hp) engine, which is exceptionally light for this competitive environment, offers immense agility from a standing start, with a peak torque of 250 Nm on tap between 1,250 and 4,000 rpm. Efficiency in brief consumes just 0.0372 litres per horsepower, making it almost twice as efficient as its predecessor from the year 2000.* BlueDIRECT technology. The new engine is the first fourcylinder unit to feature this Mercedes-Benz combustion technology. At its heart is third-generation spray-guided homogeneous direct injection with centrally arranged fast injectors, together with multi-spark ignition, a turbocharger and an ECO start/stop function. In-engine friction is 16 per cent lower than in the previous engine, while the engine weight has been reduced by 18 per cent, making it lighter than comparable four-cylinder engines. Ancillary components that are controlled on demand help to further improve energy efficiency. Posting an impressive set of fuel consumption figures, the new C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY and E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition executive models highlight the enormous efficiency potential harnessed within internal combustion engines. * These figures are provisional. They are not based on an individual model and do not constitute part of the product offer; they are provided solely for purposes of comparison between vehicle models. Figures include optional extras. 9

Innovation More safety and comfort

For safe, enjoyable driving Innovative driver assistance systems maximise safety. Mercedes Benz introduces Digital DriveStyle for cars with wireless iphone integration. Always on. By wirelessly integrating the iphone into the car s control and display concept, Mercedes-Benz gives the driver access to the main content on their smartphone. This content appears on the vehicle display, and can be controlled safely and conveniently using the controller on the centre armrest thanks to the Drive Kit Plus for iphone and a Daimler developed app concept. Hill-Start Assist Reversing camera Active Parking Assist Blind Spot Assist ATTENTION ASSIST Lane Keeping Assist Innovative driver assistance systems for maximum safety Safe driving. Most accidents start long before impact, due to inattentiveness, poor vision or an unforeseeable danger. The safe driving aspect of the Mercedes-Benz safety concept incorporates numerous measures that help to ensure relaxed driving and the right response in critical situations. The radar-based COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST warning system can detect an insufficient distance between the car and the vehicle in front. If it thinks a rear-end collision is likely, it gives the driver audible and visual warnings. If the driver then applies the brakes, Adaptive Brake Assist can provide the exact braking power needed to prevent an imminent collision. LINGUATRONIC Always on Speed Limit Assist PRE-SAFE COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST Brake HOLD function DISTRONIC PLUS Adaptive Highbeam Assist Additional protection for all occupants is provided by the anticipatory occupant protection system PRE-SAFE, which uses the sensors of existing systems such as ESP and BAS. When it receives information about a critical situation, it can activate safety systems as a precaution. ATTENTION ASSIST is particularly useful on long journeys and when driving at night. Equipped with highly sensitive sensors, it analyses the driver s behaviour and steering-wheel movements. If this analysis reveals steering patterns that occur when drivers become drowsy, the system gives an audible and visual warning. DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control helps the driver to keep a safe distance behind the vehicle in front. If the gap narrows too quickly, the system gives the driver an audible warning and calculates the brake pressure required to prevent a collision. This technology helps to gauge the level of risk and makes this calculated brake pressure available instantly if the driver doesn t press the brake pedal hard enough. As the sensors operate at distances of between 0.2 and 200 metres, the system is also useful in urban or stopand-go traffic. It can even brake the vehicle to a standstill if necessary, and accelerate back up to the programmed speed as soon as road conditions allow. Speed Limit Assist determines the current speed limit based on road signs and digital maps, and displays it for the driver in the cockpit. Driving too close to the vehicle in front is one of the main causes of serious accidents. For more information, visit www.mercedes-benz.com/techcenter 11

The E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID also offers an impressive driving experience thanks to electric drive, boosting, start/stop recuperation and sailing at up to 160 km/h. On the The smart electric drive Intelligent downsizing strategy. The new Mercedes-Benz hybrid models combine maximum ride comfort with optimum efficiency. Rather than focusing on standard fuel consumption figures, our engineers concentrate on achieving the best possible fuel consumption for everyday driving we call it Real Life Efficiency. New generation with further improvements. Powered by a battery from Deutsche ACCUmotive for the first time, the 55 kw electric motor propels the vehicle to 120 km/h. The larger radiator grille with integrated electric-drive logo is a particularly distinctive feature of the new model, while stylish LED daytime running lights, widened door sills and rearend modifications give the car a more dynamic look. smart is the first automotive brand to develop its own drive app for the iphone. Adding the smart kit and cradle for iphone transforms the smartphone into an onboard multimedia computer. Sustainability in brief The E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid posts record-breaking fuel-consumption and CO 2 figures (4.2 l/100 km, 109 g CO 2 /km)* and offers an impressive driving experience. The new-generation smart fortwo electric drive offers even more locally emissionfree driving enjoyment and is synonymous with forward-looking battery-electric mobility in the urban environment. * These figures are provisional.
