All potential athletes, including those who are returning from last year s team should sign up at the front desk. Notification of team selections will be emailed to each family by the end of the day Friday, March 30. The first week of April each team will have a parent information meeting, followed by a one hour skills practice. These times will be given in the team selection emails. Team selections will be based on the athlete s age, as well as their skill level. Returning athletes will also be evaluated based on their performance/participation from the previous competitive season. The number of teams will be decided at the time that team selections are made. Your child will be evaluated on tumbling, jumps, and motions. We do ask that you carefully read our commitment contract and fully understand what is expected of you BEFORE coming to tryouts. We assume that all athletes who are evaluated are committed and willing to participate on the team they are assigned for the entire 2012-2013 competitive season. Making and honoring a commitment to this program is important. If you are not currently a student at Alabama Elite, fill out a liability waiver and bring it to tryouts. Please bring a copy of your summer/fall schedule including any and ALL dates for prior commitments. (School cheer practice or game schedules; summer/fall vacations; etc) Bring your commitment contract (signed) with you to tryouts. COMMITMENT CONTRACT ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance at practice will be strictly enforced throughout the year. For the summer season, athletes are expected to be at practice unless noted on the vacation/planned calendar. As for the fall and spring season, athletes are expected to be at every practice. The ONLY excused absence is a school function that results in a grade; we will work with school cheerleading. All other absences are unexcused and only 3 are allowed throughout the year. An athlete may have Director (Leah) excuse them from an event. Part-time jobs, dances, family reunions, weddings, school/church socials and any other non related school activities are unexcused. Illness or injury: Unless your child is contagious or running fever, we expect them to be at practice. We will modify and limit their participation. (Coach MUST BE NOTIFIED OF ABSENCE as soon as you realize that your child s illness will keep them from practicing that day) Those with injuries are also expected to attend practice and observe. Doctor s notes with an estimated recovery schedule should be given to coach. School work is not a reason to miss practice. Although academics are very important to us, your athlete needs to learn time management skills. Please use the term family emergency lightly! Extra curricular activities and jobs need to be scheduled around your commitment to Alabama Elite. FINANCIAL POLICY: All expenses will be spread over a period of time. You are expected to be on time with your payments and tuition. Tuition is always due at the 1st of each month and late (with $10 fee) after the 10th. Your payment installments will be for other cheerleading costs such as: Choreography, music, entry fees, coaching expenses, etc. If these payments are late, an additional $10.00 fee will be charged to your account. If you quit or are dismissed from the team for any reason, you are still responsible for any fees due up until the date dropped from the team/program. You will forfeit any and all monies previously paid to Alabama Elite for both tuition and payment plan installments. Failure to notify of contract withdrawal within the specified 24 hour time frame will bind you to your contract and first month s tuition.
