Safety Instructions 1. Always connect the device with the originally provided power supply. Please do not use other similar objects. Meanwhile, the original power supply can only be used for this product. Please do not apply it to other electronic products. 2. Please do not expose the device to environments with the following conditions: rapid change of temperature, high temperature (e.g., direct sunlight), extremely low temperature, high voltage, electro-static interference, dust, and moisture; please also keep the device away from being splashed with water or dipped in any kind of liquid. 3. Please keep the device away from electronic items that can cause electromagnetic interference, e.g., television sets, personal computers, motors, motorized vehicles, scanners, video disc players, fax machines, hair dryers, and so on. 4. Hold means a keystroke which lasts more than 2 seconds then release; Press means a keystroke which lasts less than 2 seconds. 3

Getting Started Open the cover Power supply socket and USB port for PC connection and charging from PC via USB 1. Charge: plug the power supply into the electrical outlet in your house, and then plug the smaller end of the power supply into the power supply jack on the device, the built-in battery will be automatically charged. 4

2. When the device is unpacked for the first time, please charge the battery for at least 8 hours. Only after the green light of the charge indicator is on, the device can be operated normally. Afterwards, charge the battery until the green light of the charge indicator is on. 3. The charge indicator on the front cover shows the status of charging. Meantime icon displays. Slow charging under low battery condition Both Red and Green lights are on Charging Charge Completed Red light is on Red light is off and Green light is on 4. Power on the device: Hold Power key, the display will be turned on while the charge indicator is off. Press Power key, the device will be locked. Equally, press Power key again to unlock the device. 5. During the first time usage or when there is no preset channel, the system will automatically scan available channels and store the channel information. 5

6. In DAB and FM modes, the earphones should always be plugged in for correctly receiving the signals because the earphone set is a related part of the antenna. For the playback of MP3 music, please prepare SD/MMC cards in advance and insert the card into the card slot. 7. Power off the device: Hold Power key. 8. Charging is also possible by USB cable from a computer or notebook- it may take a little bit longer compared to the supplied wall charger. 6

Notes 1. Strongly recommend: please use the originally provided earphones to avoid bad signal receiving quality (the cable works as antenna, too!). 2. If the battery is charged through the USB cable connected to PC, it will take more time to complete charge. 3. If the charge is complete, the power supply can be unplugged for portable operations. Please recharge the battery regularly to maintain smooth operations. 4. By viewing the battery level indicator shown on the display, you can check the battery power usage. 5. The power consumption ranking is (from low to high): 1. MP3, 2. DAB, 3. FM. 6. For the next power-on, the previous operation Mode before the last power-off will be retained without the need of being reset again. 7. When the signal receiving quality is bad, the device will be humming with noise. With regard to the ordinary idea of receiving radio programs, we recommend you to change the channel setting or relocate the device at place with better signal receiving quality before using it. 9

There are three pages of information. The last keystroke will bring an electronic clock into the display. Press any key to return to the main menu. 18

FM Transmitter The FM transmitter function is supported in the DAB and MP3 Mode of DR306 model. You can transmit the signals of your favorite DAB channel programs or MP3/ WMA through FM radio channels for those nearby equipments with FM radio receivers to receive. For example: transmit to the car or home stereo. The available frequency settings range is from 87.6 MHz to 107.9 MHz. According to latest European regulations. This regulation is new and there may be countries, where such transmitters are not yet allowed. Please check the local regulations in the country where you want to use the transmitter. The default frequency setting is 87.6 MHz. The power is legally limited and the communication range may be some meters depending on the antenna of the receiver. Please try to find the best position for Your radio. For the next-time frequency setting, the previous set frequency will be the starting value. For example, if the previous set frequency is 98.90 MHz, the starting value of the next frequency setting will be 98.90 MHz. 19

Please note: The FM transmitter does not work when the radio is in FM mode- this is technically impossible because it is within the same frequency band.
