October 2009 900381-001 Rev. 00 Installation Instructions Allegro MX-1 Monitor Bezel Upgrade Kit (p/n 600085-001) About This Document This document is intended for: Operators of TouchTunes Allegro MX-1 jukeboxes who have received the Allegro MX-1 Monitor Bezel Upgrade Kit. TouchTunes Field Service, Customer Support, and Sales personnel. It provides instructions for installing the upgrade kit. Recommended Tools and Equipment The following list shows tools that you may require to accomplish the installation. Ensure that you have all tools before beginning installation. Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers. Cable ties. Utility knife or cutters to cut cable ties. Estimated Installation Time Installation of this kit can be accomplished in 30 to 45 minutes. Procedure Note: When disassembling the existing hardware, handle all parts carefully, as some will be reused during reassembly. Step 1: Shutting Down the Jukebox 1. Open the door of the jukebox. 2. Shut down the jukebox by setting the rocker switch on the power supply to OFF (O) and disconnecting the main power cord. Remove (4x) monitor bezel retaining screws one on each side of the bezel (close to the lenses), and 2 below the monitor (near the ID label). Removing bezel screws 2. While grasping the top of the monitor, carefully tilt the bezel forward. The monitor/bezel assembly will shift downward slightly. Tilting the monitor bezel 2 of 6
TIP: Use the top shelf of the jukebox (behind the monitor) to lay down the monitor/bezel assembly while performing the following step. 3. Cut the cable tie(s) and disconnect power, VGA and touch screen cables from the monitor. Disconnecting power cable 4. Remove monitor bezel from jukebox and place face down on clean flat nonabrasive surface. 5. Remove and discard (8x) monitor retaining screws and washers. Removing monitor retaining screws 6. Replace monitor bezel and install new (8x) retaining screws and (8x) lock washers. Note: Install the lock washers in all 8 locations to secure the monitor firmly in the bezel. 7. Remove (2x) shades by depressing all retaining hooks. Pry gently with flat head screw driver where necessary. Important: For shades and lenses, use a screwdriver only on the inside tabs. By using a screwdriver on the outside tabs, you risk damaging the finish. 8. Remove (3x) arch lenses by depressing all retaining hooks. Pry gently with flat head screw driver where necessary. Removing shades and lenses Step 3: Replacing Top Arch 1. Disconnect the logo lighting connector, located on the inside top left area of the top arch. Important: Pull gently on the connector to prevent damage. Disconnecting logo lighting connector 4 of 6
2. Remove (14x) arch retaining screws. Replacing arch Step 4: Re-installation 1. Transcribe the jukebox identification code onto a blank label and affix it to the new bezel. Jukebox identification code 2. Replace the arch and re-install the retaining screws. Note: TouchTunes recommends using the spare (slightly larger) screws that are included in your kit. 3. Reconnect the logo lighting connector. Note: There are left-handed and right-handed lenses and shades. Be sure to re-install them with the correct orientation. 4. Install the replacement lenses included with your kit by clipping the retaining hooks into the arch. 5. Install the replacement shades included with your kit by clipping the retaining hooks into the arch. 6. Place the monitor bezel in front of the arch and reconnect VGA, touch screen and power cables to monitor. Use the top shelf of the jukebox (behind the monitor) to lay down the monitor/bezel assembly while reconnecting cables. 7. Secure the power cable to the monitor with a cable tie. 8. Place monitor bezel on arch and reattach with retaining screws. 9. Reconnect the main power cord and turn the power supply on to start the jukebox. 10.Close front door. 5 of 6
The photo below shows the new six-degree tilt monitor bezel installed in the Allegro MX-1. Six-degree tilt monitor installation complete Note: To the naked eye, there is little or no discernible difference in physical appearance between the conventional and six-degree tilt monitor bezels. When viewing jukebox graphics, however, there is a pronounced improvement in the viewing angle provided by the upgrade kit.
