- Save lives and reduce material damage

Ultra Fog specialises in high pressure sprinklers for fire extinction using water fog, both at sea and on land. Our base is in Gothenburg, which is where we carry out development, design and testing of the system. There is an ever-increasing demand for effective and safe fire fighting. Of great value are an advanced IT system, specialist machines and not least capable staff! Ultra fog is Sweden s leading manufacturer of high pressure sprinklers for safe fire fighting with water fog, and since the early 1990s has been developing a range of systems and patented solutions based on this method. Our marine systems have been installed on vessels around the world and we have seen a steadily increasing demand for our products within the industrial trades, the construction industry, culturally-historic buildings, restaurants, homes for the elderly, schools, etc. Our experience of the marine environment, where demands are extremely high and there is little, if any, access to rescue services, we have used the same systems for use on land. Ultra Fog s sprinkler system provides a more effective and safer fire fighting system than conventional sprinkler systems, where the fire centre is cooled faster and the oxygen supply is restricted. Less water is used, which minimises water damage and makes the clean up work easier. In addition, the water fog doesn t have foam s negative affect on the environment and isn t as dangerous for the human body as gas.

With Ultra Fog s sprinkler system, water is driven through a special nozzle at a high pressure, and small droplets are formed. When the water fog is vaporised, due to the fire centre s high temperature, large volumes of heat energy are eliminated. A powerful cooling effect occurs and the vapour forces the oxygen out and the fire is extinguished. Even minor amounts of water provide very effective fire extinction. Not only does this mean minimum water damage, but it also means an effective system in locations where water supplies are limited. Ultra Fog s sprinkler system was originally developed for marine use, where demands for effective fire extinction are extremely high. When the same kind of system is installed for use on land, we are achieving a highly effective and reliable fire extinction system which works well in sensitive and valuable environments. The fog sprinkler system can be connected to various different forms of surveillance for early fire detection and fast activation. Fast action together with low water consumption saves valuable assets! SEB s head office in Stockholm is fire protected with Ultra Fog s water fog sprinkler system.

Ultra Fog carries out entire projects, from concept to finished installation. The development work is built upon knowledge of the various phases and methods in fire fighting, experience of various customer projects and creativity in optimising solutions even for the most extreme conditions. We have standard solutions for fog sprinkler systems, but in our experience with most of our customers ask for unique speciallyadapted fire protection solutions. Ultra Fog s nozzle operates with a system pressure from 60 bar up to 140 bar, depending on the kind of installation. Normal pressure is approx. 100 bar. The system uses small pipe dimensions and normally requires no conversion of the plumbing which simplifies installation considerably and thereby reduces costs. Ultra Fog s system provides safety for people, property, machines and the environment. The surveillance system integrated with a watersaving and effective extinguishing system minimises damage and protects valuable assets. There are three main categories of sprinkler system on the market Low pressure system - conventional water sprinklers Working pressure under 12 bar. This kind of sprinkler system uses from 5 litre/m2 water per minute. Medium pressure system - mist waterspray Working pressure 12 to 40 bar. Water consumption is at least 50-70% of the conventional sprinkler system. Ultra Fog MicroX3 pump station, 100-140 bar High pressure system - water fog Working pressure can vary from 40 bar up to 200 bar, The difference between water spray and water fog is the droplet size. Water fog normally has smaller droplets than spray. A high pressure system with water fog has a lot of advantages over low pressure and medium pressure systems. The overall amount of water is reduced to a minimum, 85-90% less compared to conventional systems The cooling effect is extremely high Heat development is controlled Drainage and waste water systems can be reduced Smaller pipe dimensions, 8-42 mm

Ultra Fog nozzles We have a unique range of fog nozzles developed for a variety of different areas of use. Simple design with few components in the nozzle provides a high operational reliability and the system s design minimises energy loss which means that the energy can be maximised in the nozzle to create water fog. All Ultra Fog nozzles have been put through extensive testing by UL (Underwriters Laboratories), USA. The patented Ultra Fog technology and nozzle design is unique on the market. 10 reasons to choose the Ultra Fog sprinkler system for fire fighting Ultra Fog nozzle FACTS 1. Major cooling effect when the water droplets transform into vapour. 2. Extremely high extinguishing effect in relation to water volumes. Less damage to equipment and faster clean up. 3. Fast extinction through effective sprinklers with low RTI values. 4. Reduced volumes of oxygen in the fire zone through the vapour s shielding effect. 5. Oxygen is prevented from reaching the fire by over-pressure in the fire zone. 6. Water damage is reduced to a minimum through lower volumes of water being used, which means a reduced need for waste water and drainage compared to conventional sprinkler systems. 7. Normally no installation of new service piping is required, which results in lower investment costs. 8. Environmentally friendly and safe - no toxins. Ultra Fog sprinkler system: Droplet size: 10 microns up to 200 microns Working pressure: 60-140 bar Water consumption 85-90% less compared to conventional systems Pipe dimensions: 8 mm-42 mm Extremely lightweight: including water 80-90% lower compared to conventional water sprinkler systems Pumping station or pressure accumulator, or a combination of both 1700 litres water vapour produced from one litre of water 9. Extremely lightweight, requires only 10% of the water storage, compared to conventional systems. 10. Simple installation. Discreet piping system. Requires no hot work.

The extraordinarily high demands on fire fighting systems at sea are what set the standards for all of our fire fighting products. Few movable parts, robust installation and durable materials are the foundations of our systems. Operational reliability and functionality are of course our highest priority. Public premises, business premises, elderly care and group accommodation, schools and pre-schools Ultra Fog sprinkler systems are easy to install discreetly both in newly built premises and existing premises. A lot of local authorities and shopkeepers choose to upgrade their fire protection when converting, renovating, or rebuilding. Our system has for example been installed at the Belgrade Arena (Serbia), one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe, with a total area of 48 000 m2, and seating for up to 23 000 people. Culturally-historic buildings Sensitive environments such as museums, art galleries, galleries and churches require a discreet sprinkler installation without major obstructions on the ceiling and walls. The dimensions of the piping, nozzles etc are so small and hardly noticeable, as they transport water under such a high pressure. Industrial premises and transformer stations Warehouses, industrial spaces, workshops etc require extra effective fire fighting systems on a larger scale. In such cases, the system is tailor-made for extremely high demands for a guaranteed effective fire protection. A lot can be saved through early detection and restricted water damage. Fire in an oil-filled transformer can be disastrous for many businesses. Ultra Fog can, in addition to fire protection, also design the system to cool the transformer during operation. Computer rooms Fire in computer rooms with extremely sensitive and valuable equipment can be devastating for a business. Even in these situations it is usually the water volumes that cause the most damage in the event of a fire. With water fog, the fire is extinguished fast and damage to the equipment is minimised. Restaurant kitchens Large kitchens and restaurant kitchens are often troublesome environments from a fire protection point of view. Ultra Fog s system for water fog is easy to install, even in tight spaces, and effectively extinguishes burning fats and oils in things like deep fat fryers and roasters. Residential sprinklers Fire in residential buildings often spreads quickly and surprises the residents. Therefore active fire protection, such as sprinkler systems, are becoming more common in homes, as they provide an increased opportunity for safe evacuation, even for elderly or disabled residents. Ultra Fog provides solutions for fire protection in all kinds of residential buildings. Technical changes In the design of a building s fire protection, the installation of residential sprinklers can create new opportunities. As it appears positive in the criteria for fire protection in construction law, they can be used as a supplement and thereby permit abatement in the fulfilling of other criteria, a technical trade. Our system has proved to provide sufficient safety in technical changes and this means: - reduction of fire technical class for separating/load-bearing construction - reduced criteria on fire spreading protection in ventilation systems - reduced criteria on surfaces in residential buildings Constructions Ultra Fog also specially designs systems for complex protection of e.g. roof constructions where their strength is dependent upon the temperature of the construction.

The aim of the fire extinction system is to save lives and property. Therefore it is extremely important that the system works smoothly. Our ambition is to deliver and install systems and service of the highest possible quality and best possible functionality. Service and maintenance With regular maintenance of the sprinkler system, you are ensuring full operational reliability in the event of a fire. The guarantee for operational reliability is Ultra Fog s qualified technicians and service staff that carry out the maintenance and service. This is to avoid faults remaining undiscovered until the day a fire breaks out, something that can lead to major losses. A service contract with Ultra Fog is the safest way to maintain the fog sprinkler system in its ultimate operative condition. Included in this contract are regular checkups, and the service experts we employ are trained by us on our unique systems and components. The system operators carry out regular minor checks, such as ocular inspections and minor testing. Our certified service technicians take on more comprehensive service work and annual maintenance. Ultra Fog original quality The core of our fog sprinkler system is the unique components, individually and together. It takes a range of different components to create the perfect sprinkler system, and a system is no stronger than its smallest part. A pre-requisite for safe operation and high performance is that Ultra Fog s own original parts are used in the system. All components, such as nozzles, pumps, cylinders, electric contacts and manoeuvre panels are manufactured in our own workshop or by approved subcontractors. Ultra Fog s suppliers manufacture according to ISO 9001. We keep a comprehensive range of spare parts in stock to be able to provide the best possible service if something needs to be replaced quickly. When we install a system, we also offer an individual package with Ultra Fog original parts for your fog sprinkler system.
