Oakwood also includes a large network of ambulatory services, a for-profit health enterprises company, a post-acute care division, and a Foundation. In 2005, net revenues of $1.4 billion. President, Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center and Senior Vice-President, Oakwood Healthcare System (2002-2005) Responsible for the overall performance of Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center, Oakwood Heritage Hospital, ambulatory medical clinics, and medical education programs. Substantially improved the financial, clinical quality, market growth, and customer satisfaction performance of the organization. The services in Northwest Washington consist of Providence Everett Medical Center, a three-campus 475-bed Regional Medical Center; Providence Home Care and Hospice; Providence Medical Group, a network of 75 primary care physicians; and Providence General Foundation. In 2001, net revenues of $350 million. Chief Executive, Northwest Washington Service Area (1996-1998) and Administrator, Providence Everett Medical Center (1996-2001) Led the merger of the two hospitals in Everett, including consolidating and re-siting services, restructuring management around service lines, and integrating the cultures of the two organizations. Served as a member of the Providence Leadership Council for Providence Health System. Recognized as one of the nation's Top 100 Regional Medical Centers, a Top 100 Cardiovascular Program, and the Outstanding Emergency Department in the State of Washington. MCKENZIE HEALTH CARE, Springfield, Oregon (1987-1995) McKenzie Health Care is an integrated healthcare organization consisting of McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center, a 114-bed acute care facility; a physician organization of 150 physicians; a hospital foundation, and other affiliated corporations.

Interim President/CEO (1994-1995) and Vice-President (1987-1994) Oversaw senior management teams for McKenzie Health Care and affiliated corporations. Introduced the Planetree Philosophy as a patient-centered delivery approach. Improved cash reserves; closed unprofitable ventures. Developed a Physician/Hospital Organization (PHO) and recruited a physician executive to lead the organization. Established McKenzie Health Care as a viable provider in the managed care market by forming strategic partnerships with major insurance carriers and negotiating favorable managed care contracts. Provided leadership to quality benchmarking initiatives. Developed and managed Southern Willamette Medical Group, a network of primary care physicians. Led market share growth, master facility planning, physician integration strategies, fund-raising, and operational improvement initiatives. HOLY CROSS HEALTH SERVICES, Salt Lake City, Utah (1984-1987) Holy Cross Health Services of Utah, a member of Holy Cross Health System of South Bend, Indiana (now Trinity Health System), consisted of two hospitals with 350 beds, a preferred provider organization, medical education programs, urgent care centers, and occupational health clinics. Vice-President (1984-1987) Directed strategic planning, marketing, physician relations, managed care contracting, facility planning, and new business development. Directed the network of primary care, urgent care, and occupational health clinics. Created an Independent Practice Association (IPA) and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) with over 200 physicians. Developed a board-approved Strategic Plan and Master Facility Plan. CAMBRIDGE MANAGEMENT CORPORATION, Salt Lake City, Utah (1980-1984) Established the company and served as President of Cambridge Management Corporation, a management consulting firm with five partners and several associates, specializing in strategic planning, organizational development, and management training for hospitals, medical clinics, and other clients. Provided consulting services to the State of Utah, Intermountain Health Care, University of Utah, and other companies in the fields of construction, telecommunications, public accounting, oil exploration, venture capital, and retail. Formed Lexus Management Group in 1981, specializing in medical practice management for large medical groups, smaller clinics, and solo practices in the Ogden, Salt Lake, and Provo markets of Utah.
