Team Invitation We are pleased to invite all freestyle nations to attend the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships at Voss and Oslo in Norway March 2 nd 10 th 2013. 1. ENTRIES Entries will be accepted from the ski association of each country in accordance with the FIS quotas and rules at www.fis-ski.com/data/document/wsc-rules-2011_clean-version.pdf. Please submit the entries by use of the FIS Online Entry System at www.fis-ski.com/ National Ski Associations must submit their team numbers and names according to the FIS Freestyle WSC rules. NATIONAL SKI ASSOCIATION TEAM QUOTAS Please observe the National Ski Association team quotas in the FIS Freestyle WSC rules which are: 2.1 The maximum number of participants from each country shall be: Maximum 36 participants with a maximum of 20 of either gender plus the competitors according to WSC art. 9.3 (past or reigning 2011 FIS Freestyle World Champions). (WSC art. 9.1.4). 2.2 Number of participants in each single event In each single event no more than (4) four competitors per National Ski Association plus the competitors according to WSC art. 9.3, are entitled to start (WSC art. 9.2). 2.3 The maximum number of team officials, medical and technical personnel per national team shall be: - up to 4 competitors: 3 coaches 2 doctors* 2 technicians/support staff - 5 to 9 competitors: 4 coaches 2 doctors* 3 technicians/support staff - 10 to 14 competitors: 5 coaches 2 doctors* 4 technicians/support staff - 15 to 22 competitors: 6 coaches 2 doctors* 5 technicians/support staff - 23 to 30 competitors: 7 coaches 2 doctors* 6 technicians/support staff - 31 to 36 competitors: 8 coaches 2 doctors* 7 technicians/support staff * Medical personnel includes doctors, physiotherapists, first aid people The quotas include the national team officials (team captains, etc. WSC art 9.4) 2.4 Competitors Qualification All competitors must be registered by the NSAs and have been issued a Freestyle Skiing FIS Code. There are no FIS point requirements to be entered into the WSC. 3. REGISTRATION 3.1 Oslo Ski Halfpipe Teams Ski Halfpipe team registration will take place in the city of Oslo from March 1 st. The place of registration in Oslo is to be at the hotel where the teams are to be accommodated. The choice of hotel is yet to be decided and communicated to the teams well in advance of the event. Opening hours of the race office at the hotel: From 08:00 23:00 from Friday March 1 st till Wednesday March 6 th. 3.2 Voss - All Teams: Moguls, Aerials, Ski Slopestyle and Ski Cross teams registration will take place at; Fleischers Hotel, Evangervegen 13, 5700 Voss (www.fleischers.no) and in Myrkdalen Hotel, Bygardsli, 5713 Vossestrand (www.myrkdalenhotel.no) Opening hours of the race office at the hotels: From 08:00 23:00 from Saturday March 2 nd till Sunday March 10 th. 3.3 Entry confirmed with Passport To be eligible for entry in the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships Voss/Oslo 2013 the competitor must be a citizen of the country of which the National Ski Association he or she has a license and prove this with a valid passport. 3.4 Visa Requirements The main rule is that every foreign national need a visa in order to visit Norway. There are however exceptions to this rule. Exemption to the visa requirement applies to nationals of countries that have a visa exemption agreement with Norway. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS The organizing committee will provide accommodation with half board at a maximum of CHF 100 per day for each person (athletes and team officials) in accordance with the rules for the organization of the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships (WSC art. 17.5.3). In accordance with the FIS Freestyle WSC rules (WSC art. 17.5.6) the organizing committee will permit changes to be made to the reservation until 3 months (December 2 nd, 2012) before the Championships (WSC art. 13.2 Preliminary team entry). No later than the deadline of February 9 th 2013 (WSC art. 13.3.1 Provisional team selection), a National Ski Association may change their accommodation reservation by a maximum of 20% of the total nights without payment of a penalty. The organizing committee cannot guarantee lodging needs that have been submitted after February 9 th 2013. If the above mentioned information is not submitted by the published deadlines before the championships, the organizing committee has the right to invoice the costs incurred for cancelled accommodation to the National Ski Association concerned (WSC art. 17.5.6). The choice of hotel is to be decided and communicated to the teams well in advance of the event. 4.2 Payment of Accommodations Payment must be made by cash (Norwegian kroner) or credit card at the race office at the time of registration. At the time of registration, a major credit card will be required to cover all incidentals. Each team will be held responsible for any damage incurred during their stay. Please submit your lodging needs to the organizing committee through the FIS Online Entry System by the preliminary deadline of October 30 th, 2012. All lodging needs must be finalized and submitted through the FIS Online Entry System by February 9 th, 2013. (information regarding the online entry system will be sent to the NSAs) 5. TRANSPORTATION 5.1 Voss Voss is situated approximately 100 km east of the city of Bergen in the western part of Norway. Bergen Airport, Flesland is the main gateway for international flights and Voss is easily accessible by train, bus and car from Bergen. 6. ANTI-DOPING The Anti-Doping Control will be conducted for each event and gender. 7. ACCIDENT INSURANCE All racers participating in FIS events must in accordance with ICR Art 212 carry accident insurance, in sufficient amounts to cover accident, transport and rescue costs including race risk. The National Associations are responsible for adequate insurance coverage of all their racers sent and inscribed by them. The National Ski Associations or their competitors must be able to show proof of the respective insurance coverage at any time on request of the FIS, one of its representatives or the organizing committee. 8. RESPONSIBILITY All athletes, officials and other members of each national association who will participate in and attend the championships shall take part at their own risk. The organizing committee, Voss Fjellandsby Myrkdalen, Oslo Vinterpark, the municipality of Voss, the municipality of Oslo, the FIS, the Norwegian Ski Federation, sponsors, suppliers and agents employers and volunteers will not take any responsibility for accidents, damage, injuries and troubles incurred by athletes, officials and the secondary or third party damage that may happen during the WSC. All participants must take care of their personal belongings at all times without negligence. The aforementioned parties cannot be held responsible for lost belongings. 9. RADIOS Due to Norwegian law, all overseas radio systems must be applied for before use in Norway. The Norwegian Post and Telecommunication Authority (NPT) is responsible for frequency management and radio licensing in Norway.
