Reglerna är framtagna av Byggkeramikrådet med hänsyn till myndighetskraven i Boverkets byggregler, BFS 2011:6 med ändringar till och med BFS 2011:26, BBR. 1 10 Five steps to an approved tanking membrane in wet rooms This installation instruction describes step by step the different actions necessary for professional installation of SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 and 2. The systems have been tested and approved to meet all applicable requirements and industry regulations. 1. Check the surface What kind of surface do the walls and floor in the wet room have? The type of tanking system used will depend on the surface and the wet zone. If there are several types of surface in the wet room, several different tanking systems may be needed. See table and drawing for Step. 2. Check applicable requirements The industry regulations for wet rooms have been produced by the industry associations BKR and Säker Vatten. They are the experts in their field and their rules must be followed to ensure approval of the construction. You can find their guidelines on our website or access them from the QR codes below. Select the tanking system SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 and 2 are two tanking systems approved by Industry Association BKR. They are also systems which can be used on all surfaces in the wet room, as they have the highest levels of reliability and watertightness. The SCHÖNOX range of approved tanking systems also includes two foil systems - SCHÖNOX Folie 1 and 2. See separate installation instruction 2
10 Wet room zones The most exposed surfaces in a wet room are classified as Wet Zone 1. This comprises the whole floor and the walls within at least one metre of the bathtub/shower. Wet Zone 2 comprises the other wall surfaces. If part of the outside wall is in wet zone 1, the whole of the wall must be treated in the same way. Other types of wet room The floors of WCs, laundry rooms and spaces containing a water heater, etc. must also be fitted with a tanking membrane. Regardless of the system chosen, the tanking membrane must continue at least 50 mm up the wall. SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 6 2 For both solid and panel constructions, especially in wet zone 2 7 5 Note that SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 requires the specifier or client to carry out project design for damp proofing on all substrates/constructions. If this is not possible, one of the other SCHÖNOX tanking systems must be used. Construction elements SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 1 Substrate 2. SCHÖNOX KH. Sealing Tape KL, Inner and Outer Corners and Pipe and Gulley Cuffs. Sealing 5. SCHÖNOX HA coat 1 6. SCHÖNOX HA coat 2 7. Tile adhesive and tiles. Grouting Product summary For other products in the system, see Page of these installation instructions. SCHÖNOX KH Reduces absorption in the substrate. Mix according to instructions on the pack. Then pre-treat: Wet zone 1 solid constructions, concrete, plaster and/or brickwork. Wet zone 2 wet room panels, paper-clad gypsum plaster panels. SCHÖNOX HA Ready-to-use rubber membrane for waterproofing floors and walls prior to installing ceramic tiles. Tanking system SCHÖNOX Rollat 1 has a vapour resistance of approx. 16,000 s/m. Consumption: 1.5 kg/m². See also the instruction film on www.schonox.se 1 2 Clean the surface. Absorbent surfaces must be primed with SCHÖNOX KH. Mix according to instructions on the pack. Apply SCHÖNOX HA to the corner and mount Inner/Outer Corners. Press hard to fix. Cut suitable lengths of WetStop Sealing Tape. Brush with SCHÖNOX HA and mount Sealing Tape KL. For Sealing Tape SH: mount directly on floor/wall angle. Seal the edges with SCHÖNOX HA.

Grouting Product summary For other products in the system, see Page of these installation instructions. SCHÖNOX SPR Vapour barrier used in conjunction with SCHÖNOX HA. This gives tanking system SCHÖNOX Rollat 2 a vapour resistance of approx. 1,100,000 s/m. The limit value specified by "Boverket" is 1,000,000 s/m. Consumption: 0.25 kg/m². SCHÖNOX HA Ready-to-use membrane for waterproofing floors, walls and whole wet rooms prior to installing ceramic tiles. Used together with SCHÖNOX SPR. Consumption: 1.0 kg/m². See also the instruction film on www.schonox.se 1 2 Clean the surface. Apply SCHÖNOX SPR. Total consumption for coats 1 and 2 is: 0.25 kg/m². Continue by rolling SCHÖNOX SPR onto the floor. Apply SCHÖNOX SPR diagonally to the wall. Check consumption. Continue by applying SCHÖNOX SPR diagonally to the floor. Allow to dry for at least 2 hours. 6
