More green energy with oil filtration The world s leading projects in wind, solar, bio fuel and the wave energy industries all have something in common: The use of CJC Offline Filters C l e a n O i l - B r i g h t I d e a s
More green Some of the world s largest solar, wind, bio fuel and wave energy prototypes utilise CJC Filtration Systems to prolong the service life of the oil and the expensive components T he world s leading projects in wind, solar, bio fuel and wave energy industries all have something in common. Not only that they transform the nature s forces to green energy, but also that CJC Filter Equipment plays a significant role in the process. The CJC Filter is installed at the steam turbine s lubricating oil system. Each turbine has 8-20 cubic meters of lubricating oil, the danger of water penetration, condensation, particle generation and oxidation means that there are high demands on a continuous filtration of the oil. In the sunny parts of southern Spain you will find some of the worlds largest sunlight collector installations. In Andalusia and near Seville, Badajoz, and Puertollano huge areas are covered with mirrors to catch sunlight. The heat warms oil flowing in a pipe system, which again heats steam in a parallel system. The steam operates a Siemens turbine, which drives a generator that produces electricity. Just one of the large plants delivers about 170 GWh per year. The filter system installed upon the turbine, developed in co-operation with Siemens Industrial Turbo Machinery AB Sweden, increases both service life of the oil and in turn turbine reliability. If inserts in the filter are changed as scheduled the service life of oil and system components can be extended by a factor of 2 to 6 times. The CJC Filters are already placed in most of the existing installations, and it is a natural part of future development projects. It is expensive to maintain wind turbines especially offshore, therefore a CJC Oil Filter is used for filtering the gearbox and the hydraulic system. The filter ensures clean oil and clean oil reduces need for maintenance.
energy with Higher security The filter solution is not new and solar power producers are not the first industry to utilise the benefits. Approximately 10 years ago when the wind turbine industry started its growth gearbox problems were encountered and it was clarified that some of the problems were associated with oil contamination. The solution to the problem was a CJC Filter System, and compared to the expensive cost of replacing a damaged gearbox, the return on investment was rapid, by installing a CJC Filter. occur, and the softer metal inside will collapse causing a serious breakdown of the gearbox. The wind turbine projects are an example of how C.C.JENSEN's experts have been able to engage in co-operation with wind turbine and gearbox manufacturers for more than pure supply. Expertise in oil filtration, and great knowledge in oil types and uses in many challenging environments, have helped to solve operational challenges in installations that may not always be manned and monitored. The CJC Filter removes small particles, which create cracking in the hardened metal surface on moving parts in the gearbox. If degradation is allowed to continue, a breach in the hard surface may New waves Besides solar, wind, and bio fuels serious research has been undertaken into the utilisation of wave energy. There is a real race Large CJC Filters are used in the last fine adjustment of the bio fuel.
oil filtration going on, to be the first with the most useful solution. Also here the CJC Filter is included in some of the leading projects. The technique of transferring the rhythmic movements of waves into electricity requires a hydraulic installation, and the oil must be repeatedly cleaned to ensure hydraulic system efficiency. Again, the producers have found that an investment in CJC Filters is a security against having to pay expensive repairs on equipment. As in offshore wind turbines installations it is very expensive to carry out repairs on a plant, which is situated offshore. The basic principles are the same, but it is crucial to design special filters and filter inserts that can be adapted to suit specific operating conditions. Bio fuels CJC Systems are not only utilised in transmissions and hydraulic systems. CJC Fine Filters can also be used as the last fine adjustment in production of CO2-neutral bio fuel. The cellulose media based filter insert is designed to remove the last and smallest traces of contamination before the bio diesel is used in vehicles worldwide. The filter inserts are made of 100% biodegradable materials and match the production of bio fuels perfectly. It is our passion at C.C.JENSEN that we play a major part in the green energy sector, offering added value to our customers also Improving Reliability and Saving Money. Wave energy is one of the last shots of the strain of CO2-neutral energy sources, and here CJC Filters provide clean hydraulic oil, thereby improving the operation of wave energy facilities.
