Since inception of the programme to the end of march 2007, 1.98,682 bore wells have been drilled in state. During 2007 end of march 3,129 bore well installed(except task force work). Gram panchayat are taking care of these bore wells. During 2006-07 as per recommendation of the Dr. D.M Nanjudappa removal of regional imbalance committee this program has been granted. How To Apply Ph: 080-3 Desert development Program (DDP) Additional rural water supply schemes in drought prone district of bagalkot, bellary, bijapur, davanagere, raichur and koppal are being implemented under this centrally sponsored DDP since 1997-98. It is contemplated to provide 70 LPCD of water for human being and cattle in this drought affected DDP district. The implementation of bore wells and pipe water supply and mini water supply are taken up under this programme. 4 Jal nirmala This rural water supply and sanitation scheme have been implemented in belgum(14 gram panchayat 22 villages), gulbarg (2 gram panchayat 9 villages), dharwad (13 gram panchayat 5 villages) total 19 village 36 gram panchayat. Ph: 080-5 Jalarakshana Program 6 Kugrammasuvarnagrama program This state owned programme is being implemented from 2002-03. Conserving soil and water is the objective of the programme. Soil and water conservation works are implemented with the involvement of farmers. To take in the programme, the farmer should clear all the taxes due to the panchayat and pay a registration fee of Rs.50 to the gram panchayat. Cash component of the wage and material component have to be borne by the formers themselves. The kugram suvarna gram scheme is one such scheme lunched on the occasion of suvarna Karnataka celebration. The intention is to develop the most backward villages of each taluk. In the selection of villages, villages with a high concentration of SCs and STs, agriculture laborers, least women literacy rate, least infrastructure and village which are located for from taluk or urban areas have been considered. To ensure all-round development of villages emphasis has been laid on improvement of human development indices like health, education, poverty, alleviation. Infrastructure facilities like rural roads, water supply, toilets and school building will be provided the development works under the scheme are implemented through grama pachayat/ward sabhas. 7 Mini water supply program In this scheme, water is pumped to a small tank (Cistern) fitted with 3-4 taps, from where water can be collected by households. Since the inception of this programme to the end of March 2007, 24,529 Mini Water Supply Schemes have been completed. During 2006-07 it was programmed to take up 1,160 Mini Water Supply Schemes.the end of march 2007, 803 Mini Water Supply Schemes have been completed. Monitoring and supervision of the programme is done by the grama Panchayats. Ph: 080-8 NABARD The improvement of rural roads under NABARD financial assistance scheme has implemented under RIDF-VIII during 2003-04, 366 works 1,259 Kms have been approved.15 works were dropped for various reasons and total length of 1207 KMs have to be improved. By the end of march 2007 1,158 Kms of rural roads have been up graded as all weather roads. Remaining work are in progress. 9 Namma Bhumi Namma Thota This new scheme was lunched for landless agriculture laborers during 2005-06. The main objective is to improve the standards of landless agriculture laborers by providing social and economical facilities and make them live in healthy environment. The beneficiaries under this programme will be selected in the grama sabha only on the recommendation of the ward sabhas. The other criteria are that the beneficiaries family shall not own any agriculture land since two generation and depend upon agriculture for livelihood. 10 National project on Biogas development Each family will be provided with 5 guntas of dry or 2.5 guntas of wetland that could be purchased for 6,000. grama panchyat will purchase fertile land located by the side or nearer to the village on the recommendation of the standing committee on social justice. Land will be granted to the eligible family by the grama panchyat with condition that it should not be issued 20 years. Joint patta will be issued in the name of husband and wife. National Project on Biogas Development is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme which is being implemented since 1982-83. this mainly 100% women component programme. Biogas is a clean, non polluting, smoke and soot-free fuel. The digested slurry can be used as good quality manure in agriculture fields. 11 National rural employment guarantee scheme NREGA is being implemented since Feb 2, 2006. in five district bidar, chitradurga, davanagere and raichur. This program provides 100 days guarantee employment in year. The objective is to ensure livelihood and security by providing employment. After 15 days of application employment has to be provided. This being under implementation in most transparent and effective way. 12 Pradhana Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Central sponsored PRADHANA MANTRI GRAM SADAK YOJANA Programme has been implemented providing roads in the village limits. The primary objective of the PMGSY is to provide connectivity, by way of an Allweather Road to the unconnected Habitations in the rural areas, in such a way that Habitations with a population of 500 persons and above 13 Piped water supply program 14 Central sponsored Plan for rehabilitation of labor 15 Swajaladhara scheme Under this programme, since inception to the end of march 2007, 18,587 schemes are completed and commissioned both under state and central sector. During 2006-07, it has been programmed to commission 1087 piped water supply scheme. During 2006-07to the end of march 2007, 489 bore wells water supply have been completed.(except special taskforce work).this program monitoring by gram panchayats Central government sponsored plan was launched in 1978 with objective of providing economic assistance by rehabilitation freed bonded labor and child bonded labor. 16 Sampoorna Grameena Rozgar Yojana 10% of the estimated cost of the scheme to be paid by user community. 90% of the scheme cost to be fully financed by the government of India. O & M cost of the scheme to be financed fully by the beneficiaries. Swjaladhara can be implemented by gp/ beneficiaries groups following reform principle District implementation agency (DIA) will release funds to the GPs/BGs DIA will be responsible for formulation, implementation and management of swajadhara schemes Sampoorna Grameena Rozgar Yojan launched during 2001-02. aims at providing wage employment and food security to agricultural labourers and to create sustainable asset for infrastructure development. The allocation is shared in the ratio of 75:25 between the Centre and the State. 17 Swarna Jayanthi Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) Swarna Jayanthi Grama Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) launched by restructuring several self-employment programmes like IRDP, DWCRA,TRYSEM,SITRA,Ganga kalyana youjana and million well scheme from 01-074-1999. SGSY is a holistic programme covering all aspects of self employment like organisation of the poor into self help group, training in skill, credit linkage technology, provision of infrastructure and marketing facilities. SGSY will be funded by the center and state in the ratio of 75:25. 18 Swacha grama Yojana Swacha Grama Yojana Programme has been implemented providing clean environment in the village limits. This programme incorporated five important features. They are * Paving of internal Roads/Streets in the village. * Construction of Drains for disposal of silage / storm water. * Providing of community compost yards and shifting of manure pits to outside village limits. * Providing smokeless chullas for all households. school latrines. 19 Suvarna jala To promote this scheme district resource center have been established in all districts of state. Demonstration of the rural roof top water harvesting structure have also been made in all taluks navagrams. In rural areas those who adopt this system a provision has been made for 20% annual property tax rebate. During 2006-07 2nd allocation has been released. Ph: 080-20 Sub mission project 21 Western Ghats Development Program Drinking water schemes under Rajiv gandi National Drinking water mission in rural areas have been formulated to utilize surface water to tackle the rural water quality problems excess fluoride, excess brackishness, excess iron in drinking water source of rural areas Development of western ghats in harmony with the environment and conservation of its fragile eco-system is the main objective of the programme. This programme is implemented of land and water involving various departments such as agriculter,horticulter, animal husbandry, forest, fisheries, minor iirigation, engineering, sericulture and industries.
