02 COMPETITION North Sails succeeds in the PWA tour 2007 - faster, better, further Wind turns out of the PWA flags which strongly blew during the entire tour 2007. The world championship titles of Karin Jaggi (PWA Slalom World Champion 2007), Daida Ruano Moreno (PWA Freestyle World Champion 2007) and Iballa Ruano Moreno (PWA World World Champion 2007 as well as very good top 10 results rewards North Sails with the PWA constructors title 2007. This means that North Sails claims this important title for the 3rd year in a row. The constructors title gets more and more important and is even a greater value for end consumers than e.g. a constructors title in formula1 car racing, since the sails used are pure production sails. Great team work, brilliant products and not only one single successful product or rider is the requirement for such an impressive success. It is the cumulative performance of the men and women in all disciplines which counts and finally gets rewarded with this trophy. We send our best thanks to the North Sails International Team for winning the constructors title by 6 points ahead of our main competitor! We can t Imagine a better proof of the performance of our products and our team.

04 COMPETITION Exclusive interview by PWA wave champion 2006 and 2007 Iballa Ruano-Moreno You were travelling to many places in the world already. What is your favourite competition location on the PWA tour? For competition I would say for sure my home spot. Pozo Izquierdo has really good conditions in the summer and I love jumping and surfing the waves there...i know the spot well and I always have lots of fun in contests. Also Maui... Hookipa during contest is really fun!! just a few girls out surfing the waves, its really good. Where do you personally like free-windsurfing the most? This is hard to say!!! I love the canary islands in the winter... I know the canary islands are well known for their summer conditions but in the winter we do sail in lots of different spots around the islands...it s good diversity sometimes and sail different type of conditions. Where would like to go windsurfing where you have not been so far? I was thinking a lot this year about the places I havent been and I would like to go. For sure 4 spots: Brasil, West Australia, Cabo verde, Morocco. For sure for next year I will try to go more trips for free sailing and train in this kind of conditions... How do you recover from the competitions? When I arrived from Sylt, last stop of the year, I got a flu that got me 5 days straight in bed, but after that I havent stop surfing and sailing! Right now I am in Fuerteventura, another canary island and I can say this last two days have been my dream days!!!! sailing for hours, get out of my wetsuit, eat somethign and surfing until dark...perfect day!! Who is the best newcomer in the tour? In the girls point of view, for sure Sarah Quita in freestyle, but she still has a long way to go for the waves...she is for sure a hard one to beat in freestyle! and it s really good to see her in events...people like her is the future of our sport. In the waves unluckily I can tell about any newcomers yet...hopefully one day!!! until now Daida and i will try to do our best. Which sailors do you look up to? My sister. She is great to watch always!! and she always impress me with her sailing...i love watching her because it makes me think that if she makes it, I will be able to do it as well! If you was no pro windsurfer what would you do instead? Probably surfing. Is my second favorite sport. I was born to be a pro in one sport...until a found windsurfing and decided to stick with it because it was realy good for me...thanks to all my sponsors to support us all this years and made our dreams come true!. What is your biggest goal in your pro windsurfing career after winning the PWA wave title 2 years in a row? After so many years, I realize contests are important! but the most important for me is to keep increasing our level, show the world girls can also make it look good! And get the respect we deserve in the water. The rest, will come by itself... thank you!!
