Applications The pump turbines of DET range have been designed to drive hydroelectric generators in small hydro-electric power stations. Their design is based on simple, reliable and proved design of spiral pumps type DE. The pump turbines of type DET-10 are used for low water heads ranging from 6 m to 17 m. The pump turbine of size DET-200-10 can be used for water heads from 4 m to 17 m. (The working areas of DET-10 turbines are marked with solid heavy lines in the performance chart of DET pump turbines). Nowadays the pump turbines of DET-10 type are produced as standard piece production. The pump turbines of DET-20 type have been designed for higher water heads up to 25 m. (The working areas of DET-20 turbines are marked with dash heavy lines in the performance chart of DET pump turbines).production of the pump turbines DET-20 has not been finished in the respect of technology of production yet which will result in a longer delivery times. Flow capacity of the pump turbines DET is given with hydraulic design of the pump turbine from the range 0.1 to 0.9 cbm/sec. Depending on efficiency of the size of pump turbine it is possible to get electric power from 4.5 to 155 kw. Detail and exact technical data about these pump turbines are given with the performance diagram of DET pump turbines. Design The pump turbines of DET range are of mixed-flow, singlestage, spiral casing, diagonal runner and axial-outlet design, non-regulating (i.e. control with blades adjustment is not possible). These pump turbines can be regulated with a flap within a limited working area. The design of mechanical part and shaft of these pump turbines has been strengthened because of higher needs of duty of pump turbines and to balance both radial and axial forces properly. The advantage of these pump turbines is their simple design with small number of parts which makes assembly and disassembly both mechanical part and hydraulic part very easy and with minimum requirements on special skills. The runner is of diagonal design with blades of helical shape. It is fixed to the shaft with runner nut. The shaft of the pump turbine is supported on two antifriction bearings. The bearings are lubricated in oil bath in bearing housing. The shaft is sealed with packing which has been design in the spiral casing directly. Arrangement of Branches The inlet branch is pointed upwards, the outlet branch is axial so that the water flows out the pump turbine in the direction of rotor axis. Direction of Rotation The pump turbines are counterclockwise turning units viewing from the hydroelectric generator. Material Execution Spiral casing, suction cover, bearings housing, packing cover, runner, bearing distance bush and runner nut are made of grey cast iron. Gland packing bush is of bronze.
