Applications The rotary lobe displacement RPT pump range is intended to pump viscous liquids, kinematic viscosity of which is from mm 2 /s to 65000 mm 2 /s, up to temperature 2 C. The products, which it is possible to pump, include oil, tar, varnish, soap, glue, water glass, asphalt and from the food industry syrup, fruit juice, molasses, mayonnaise, fats and many other viscous liquids. Description The pumps of RPT range are designed for medium heavy industrial operation. The pump consists of a mechanical part and a hydraulic part. The hydraulic part consists of the pump body and the pump cover. The upper and lower three lobe design rotors are mounted concentrically to one another in the oval-shaped body of the hydraulic part and driven via a set of gears. The lobe rotors rotate opposite each other. They roll over their own surface reciprocally and press the sucked fluid along the circumstance of the body of the hydraulic part and thus seal suction against delivery in each position. The two gears are mounted on driving and driven shafts in the body of the mechanical part. A gland packing is fitted as standard. In the case of pumping liquids containing abrasive solids, the shaft surface under the packing is protected either with hardened sleeve or with chromium oxide coating. For the handling of fluids, which due to being cooled and solidify, we supply pump with heating jacket of the pump cover. The body of hydraulic part is also equipped with heating jacket for sizes 80, 100 and 150 RPT. The heating jacket can be heated with warm water, steam or oil. The mechanical part consists of the body of the mechanical part which the driving and the driven shafts are supported on antifriction bearings in. The rotary movement of the driving shaft is transmitted to the driven one by pair of gears with gear ratio 1:1. The pair of gears is oil - bath lubricated with splash to bearings. It is mounted on overhung shaft end on drive side. The first gear of RPT range pumps is fitted with key, the other one is fitted with removable tapered sleeve that ensures the rotors so as not to contact each other, eventually in order to protect from impulse forces. Direction of Rotation Considering that the pump is horizontal suction and delivery branches design, the position of the driving shaft can be upper or lower one depending on requirement. The pump RPT can be both anticlockwise and clockwise turning unit viewed from the side of the drive. Reverse flow is possible. The direction of rotation as well as eventual reverse flow must be agreed with the manufacturer. Materials The body of the hydraulic part, the pump cover, the three lobe rotors and the body of the mechanical part are made from grey cast iron as standard. The shafts are made from structural steel, the gears from high-grade steel. For pumps for food industry or handling active liquids the body of the hydraulic part, the lobe rotors and the shafts are made from chromenickel steel. Drive Due to the varying value of the speeds at which the pumps operate (depending on the pumped liquid), the pumps are delivered with the kind of drive following in accordance with the Czech Standard ÈSN 110021: 1- pump with bare end shaft only 2- separate pump with a complete flexible coupling 3- pump with a complete flexible coupling and with base plate common for the pump and the motor, but without motor 9- pump coupled with flexible coupling to electric motor mounted on common base frame (plate) pump gear box, flexible couplings and a electric motor on common base plate (frame) Apart from the Standard ÈSN 1100, pumps are also delivery with heavy electric motor, gear box or with variable speed gear box mounted on separate base plates (frames). Standard Accessories delivery with the pump is the first sealing of stuffing boxes. Special Design For handling of fluids, which due to being cooled and solidify, we supply pump with a heating jacket heated with warm water or steam. Observations with respect to Project The performance characteristics of the pump are stated at the maximum speeds of the pump shaft. The operating speeds are chosen according to kinematic viscosity of the pumped liquid.

Operating speeds of the pump shaft are chosen according to kinematic viscosity of the pumped liquid by project department of the manufacturer. The values in the table are stated at manometric pressure at the suction branch of the pump of p s man = 0 bar. The pump works reliably also at manometric pressure at the suction branch being p s man = - 0.3 bar. The weights of the pumps are stated for drive 1 according to ÈSN 110021 in standard design 01, without heating jackets, safety valves etc.
