Your global Bridge to Perfect Cooling

Throughout the past three decades, Nissens has supplied thousands of cooling components and cooling systems for the global wind turbine industry. Around the world, complete onand offshore wind parks are equipped with customized cooling solutions from Nissens. On a yearly basis, we supply cooling solutions for approx. 10 GW electricity deriving from wind energy, and the figure is increasing, especially for offshore wind parks as a natural effect of the market trend. With our presence in Europe, America and Asia, Nissens offers to bridge the gap between the leading wind turbine manufacturers demand for global supply and the local positioning of the traditional supplier network. With Nissens as a global supplier of customized cooling solutions, our customers are guaranteed uniform product excellence, logistics services and quality standards regardless of the final destination of the product supplied. Our global footprint allows us to combine our in-depth knowledge of products and applications with the characteristics of the environment in which a specific wind turbine is installed. We thus design and adapt the cooling solution to match the specificities of the local area with the aim of creating a cooling solution that takes the climate as well as the impact on the surroundings into account to optimize the performance of the wind turbine. COOLING SOLUTIONS WIND OUR PRODUCT OFFER FOR DIFFERENT COOLING NEEDS We originally used our dedication to cooling to grow into an experienced supplier of cooling components to the wind turbine industry. Today, we use our expertise to offer complete cooling systems covering every cooling need in a modern wind turbine. As a result, our product offer covers solutions applied in the cooling of gear oil, generators, transformer oil, converters, hydraulic circuits and power electronics. PASSIVE COOLER ACTIVE COOLER NACELLE AIR CONDITIONING GEARBOX COOLER GENERATOR COOLER CONVERTER COOLER INVERTER COOLER MAIN BEARING COOLER HYDRAULIC COOLER PUMP STATION TRANSFORMER COOLER WATER-OIL HEAT EXCHANGER OUR TRACK RECORD OF SUPPLY TO EXISTING MARKET APPLICATIONS The dimensions of the wind turbines have changed considerably, since the industry was built a few decades ago. Together with the fact that the technology is becoming increasingly advanced, this calls for continuous focus on the development of new and more sophisticated cooling solutions that respond to the growing need for e.g. different technologies, improved outcome, less environmental impact. Nissens has gained significant experience and know-how in every transition period from the development of one wind turbine to another. Our track record reveals that we have the knowledge and the capability to supply cooling solutions for virtually any wind turbine available in the market. NISSENS COOLING SOLUTIONS

COOLING SOLUTIONS WIND PROVIDING INNOVATION FOR MARKET EVOLUTION Being an innovative supplier to the global wind turbine industry requires a dedication to following the development of the market and being ahead of the demands which are likely to be expressed by our customers in the future. At Nissens, we respond immediately to emerging needs for new and unique cooling offerings. comprising high-grade aluminum. We supply redundant cooling systems which ensure that the complete wind turbine installation does not fail in operation. We have developed unique fin designs, which in combination with our experience with CAB-technology and fluxes, enable us to use a material alloy with the excellent resistance features necessary for an offshore application. LARGER TURBINES The market is still moving towards larger turbines. At the same time, there is an advantage linked to gathering all cooling solutions in one integrated cooling system. The aim is to increase the technical performance and keep the operation costs at a minimum. To respond to this evolution, Nissens has developed a new and larger water cooler, where we have doubled the length of what has conventionally been possible to manufacture in one process. We have decreased the internal pressure drop to limit the operation cost, and still we have managed to reduce the material weight at the same time. Of course, we have not compromised on the quality of the product, and we have respected the expectations of designing a product for a minimum life time of 20 years. UNITING ALL HEAT SOURCES IN ONE CIRCUIT The hydraulics in brakes and pitch circuits require cooling. The optimal way to obtain that is by uniting all heat sources in one circuit. The advantages are clear: No long hose connections No risk of oil leakage No cold start issues provoked by frozen oil Furthermore, the solution offers optimal use of the water cooler at the rear of the nacelle thanks to the mutual connection factor, since full, simultaneous cooling of all systems is rare. Siemens Wind Power is a global leader in the wind industry. Our guarantee of proven performance is critical for maintaining our strong market position. That obliges us to choose the best suppliers. Nissens A/S is our preferred supplier of coolers. We greatly value their experience and know-how, especially during the development of new, innovative technical solutions. Nissens A/S supplies high-quality products, and offers the flexibility required to meet our needs. At Nissens, we have met the requirements of the market by supplying larger coolers, a new and unique heat exchanger design as well as complete cooling solutions built on our in-depth system know-how and understanding of our customers application needs. Carsten Sørensen Senior Engineer, Cooling & Filtration Siemens Wind Power MORE OFFSHORE WIND ENERGY The market for offshore wind parks is steadily growing. Currently, Nissens is the market s leading supplier of cooling solutions for the offshore segment. The aggressive environment and the limited access to the wind turbine in case of maintenance call for very reliable and technically advanced cooling systems that have been developed specifically for that aim. As a result, Nissens offers products that are manufactured with a different material

Our Proven Performance makes us your Preferred Partner Siemens press picture
