Rural Development - The Youth Challenge One of the biggest hurdles for learners living in rural areas has been the access to information and the availability of reading materials and literature to empower them in their quest to make informed career decisions.

To provide a platform for creating more access to various career options for the rural communities and youth. We aim to strengthen the linkages between schools, colleges, local communities and businesses. We intend to explore innovative channels that will strengthen the Companies and Consultants. Youth Employment Young unemployed youths were identified for the role of event management. marshals gained experience in dealing with the public, customer service and handling different personalities. They also had an opportunity to network with the representatives of the SETAs and government departments as unemployed young people from in and around Msunduzi These young people got the opportunity to meet other young people from other parts of the city and gained valuable insight from the manager of the youth advisory centre about grabbing opportunities that come their way.
Key Learnings The organizers of the Expo resolved that a concerted effort was required to reach out to youth and schools and local municipalities located in rural areas. A large number of rural youth do not know about Learnership's or where Due to high poverty levels there is a great need for this information to be available to rural youth. High rate of unemployment therefore cannot afford post matric studying.
Way Forward Government has made an impassioned plea for greater attention to be paid to rural areas. The serious challenges of geographical location, poverty, poor infrastructure and a serious lack of resources have made the chances of success for youth living in rural areas virtually insurmountable. The conceptualizers of the Umgungungundlovu Career Awareness Roadshow seek to creatively and effectively create a platform that will afford these learners the opportunity to access information and thereby make critical decisions related to their futures. One of the biggest hurdles for learners living in rural areas has been the access to information and the availability of reading materials and literature to empower them in their quest to make informed decisions Busisizwe Communications will be participating in the Career Awareness Expo Roadshow and seeks partners to MAKE THIS INITIATIVE A SUCCESS.
