The EEA has also launched the Environmental Atlas of Europe, which features stories told by eyewitnesses about their experiences of climate change. 24 Skills Development The Students to Business (S2B) program Is a community outreach programme designed to connect Microsoft partners and customers with qualified students for entry-level and internship positions. Assists unemployed graduates to gain an international Microsoft certification and at the same time gain relevant workplace experience to enable them to gain employment. Is open to students interested in a career in technology, who have technical and creative skills and a personal passion for innovation. Microsoft organises and sets up the programme, uses its partners and customer for the workplace experience and its certified training providers for training. 24

Benefit of the S2B program: The Students to Business (S2B) program has to date trained about unemployed graduates and unemployed youth since 2007 including disabled students as well as youth offenders. Through S2B, students get: Fixed term employment for 8-12 months Relevant experience within the organization with the student adding value to the business upon completion Partner responsible for the salary (in compliance with labour laws) of the student during the term 25
26 Student Skills Development cont. The Students to Government (S2G) program In line with government priorities of skills development and job creation. March 9th 2010, Microsoft, DBSA, LGSETA, SALGA and the SA Post Office launched the Ubunye Programme. Ubunye drives S2G within municipalities; S2G provides unemployed graduates with the technology skills needed to fully support local government; S2G is being piloted in the Free State and Eastern and Western Cape. 18 students are trained for 8 municipalities in Bloemfontein in the Free State. 10 students will be trained for the Eastern and Western Cape, currently recruiting the students t 26
