Harold and Beulah McKee Scholarship Fund Award is a $1000 non renewable scholarship as long as funds are available. Edwin E. Meader Endowed Scholarship Award amounts vary. Paid in equal amounts fall and spring semesters only. Recipients are selected by Student Financial Aid scholarship committee. No application is needed. Walter and Virginia Newhouse Scholarship Award is $1000 for freshman year only. Any student regardless of class standing. Full time undergraduate students. Renewable for a maximum of 3 years for freshmen, 2 years for sophomores, and 1 year for juniors. Must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Students graduating from Benton Harbor High School, St. Joseph High School and Lakeshore High School in Berrien County, Michigan. Mildred E. Swanson and Richard C. Northrup lll Endowed Scholarship Onyx Society Endowed Scholarship Hubert and Dorthea Peckman Memorial Endowed Scholarship Belinda S. Phillips Endowed Scholarship Awards are made during fall semester and renewable for an additional 3 years if the student remains enrolled full time with a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Professional Development or Enrichment Programs Incoming freshmen who have graduated from Okemos High School, Michigan. Minimum 2.5 high school GPA. Full time enrollment required. Renewable if satisfactory academic progress is maintained. Award split evenly between fall and spring semesters. Preference given to a full time African American undergraduate student who is a U.S. citizen. Minimum 2.25 GPA. Scholarship is for fall and spring semesters only. Available to any student regardless of course of study. First preference to students who are Allegan County residents. If no applicants from Allegan County, then award goes to students in SW Michigan. Must manifest an earnest desire for an education. Must have financial need and be willing to work for part of their education funding. Preference given to students who are from homes where one or both parents are deceased. Available to incoming freshmen who graduated from Decatur High School. Minimum 3.2 high school GPA. Selection will be made by the Decatur High School Scholarship Committee. For applicants completing coursework as part of professional development or enrichment programs, appropriate to K 12 education.

Applications for tuition reimbursements for professional development coursework must be submitted by the official drop or add date established for the course. Only coursework receiving a 3.0 GPA or higher will be eligible for reimbursement. Credit or no credit courses are not eligible for reimbursement. Application: Complete application, available at the Western Michigan University Kendall Center beginning Jan. 1. The deadline is April 1. Attach a copy of State of Michigan teaching certificate. Provide a letter of recommendation from school district administrator. Complete a statement of no more than 250 words with your justification for taking the course(s) and noting the applicability of the coursework to your program and position. Include a statement of your philosophy of education and teaching. Pete Repins Memorial Scholarship Tuition, fees and book expenses only. Renewable for a maximum of 2 consecutive years. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2, if there is no history of graduate work to qualify for this scholarship. Applicants having completed some graduate work must show proof of a 3.5 GPA. Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student majoring in advertising, printing production, or graphics. Preference shall be given to a student who demonstrates a strong commitment to the academic programs and professions of advertising, printing production, or graphics as well as related extracurricular activities such as work related experience, organization membership, etc. Roy S. Roberts Endowed Scholarship Must be enrolled full time in a pre business curriculum, or have a declared major in the Haworth College of Business. Senior Class, 1967 1974 Scholarship Samuel J. and Barbara Lett Simmons Endowed Scholarship Marjorie Ewald Smith Endowed Scholarship Full time, undergraduate students. Consideration will be given to those with financial need and past participation in high school and community affairs. High school graduates must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to children of contributing members. Fall and spring semesters. Full time, undergraduate student. U.S. citizen. Preference shall be given to underrepresented minority students. Minimum 2.0 GPA. Must be from Van Buren County, Michigan.

One time award of $500 to freshmen entering in the fall. Joseph P. Stoltman Endowed Scholarship Award amounts vary. Tuition only half in fall and half in spring. Recipients may reapply each academic year until completion of degree following the same criteria. Must abide by student code of conduct or scholarship will be withheld. Edwin Steffen Scholarship Award is $1000 for freshman year split between fall and spring semesters. The Voelker Family Endowed Scholarship Adam Nicola Iott Endowed Scholarship Must complete a FAFSA. Minimum 3.0 high school GPA. Must be a full time student. Satisfactory academic progress toward one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in secondary education with a major in Geography or Social Studies and a minor in Geography. Master of Arts in Geography for secondary education. Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education in Geography or Earth Science. Comparable educational specialization in a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the Department of Geography should such a degree exist. A minimum overall 3.0 GPA. Demonstrate a commitment to the teaching and academic study of geography. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Political Science Department one year and the Sociology Department the next year. Must be in final semester of junior year. The award shall be made on the basis of: academic scholarship, disciplinary and professional accomplishment, assessed potential and commitment to the field of Political Science or Sociology. Applicants must have enrolled at WMU as a freshman, and of their post secondary academic credits at the time of application, at least 4/5ths must have been completed at WMU. Applicants must state their intention to pursue graduate degrees in Sociology or Political Science at either WMU or elsewhere. Applicants must be a high school senior from one of the following high schools: Arthur Hill High School, Decatur High School, L Anse High School or Saginaw High School. Based on academic criteria, minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to applicants who show financial need. Consideration given to letters of recommendation, but are not required. Must apply for admission to WMU by Feb. 1. Primary consideration given to students who have been five year residents of Bedford Township, Michigan. Secondary consideration given to students who have been five year residents of Allegan, Barry or Calhoun Michigan counties. U.S. citizen. Minimum 3.0 GPA and 2.5 GPA to renew. Renewable for up to four consecutive academic years. Financial need may be considered as secondary criteria. Primary consideration given to students who are faced with cancer and demonstrate financial need. Applicants are required to provide a 2 page biography indicating how cancer has impacted their life.
