3 All the best things come in small packages The Getz is small but perfectly formed. Designed in Germany to give it European flair and German precision, the Getz has clever design and engineering ideas in every nook and cranny. There are touches of quality everywhere. It feels surprisingly big inside and the bits you don t see like the engine have had just as much attention making it easy to maintain and very economic to run, now even more so with the option of a new diesel engine. Quality is paramount, it s the force that drives us: not surprisingly this car has won awards and accolades, not just in New Zealand, but all over the world.
4 Simple Elegance Beauty stems from simplicity. Simple form and elegant lines reflect its European heritage and reinforce its strength of character. The Getz now presents a new face to the world. Sweeping lights sit above new front and rear bumpers, guiding the eye along its flanks, across flared wheel arches and rear spoiler on the 1.6 petrol and 1.5 diesel variants, which adds a sporty look. The roof slopes gently toward the rear presenting a silhouette that echoes the spaciousness inside.
5 Make more of your space The Getz is one of the roomiest cars in its category, with comfortable room for five passengers and luggage. This is your space, your sanctum so there are lots of small design touches to make you feel more at home. Adjustable headrests front and rear, hooks for your shopping, wide side bins that are designed for use and not just decoration, there is even a holder for your sunglasses. Everything is at your fingertips, including steering wheel mounted audio controls, while your fingertips have a leather steering wheel and gearshift to rest on (1.6 model only). The Getz not only accommodates people of all shapes and sizes, the versatile reclining and double folding rear seats enable you to accommodate luggage of all shapes and sizes as well.

7 Safety comes standard Safety features There are many active and passive safety systems on the Getz to keep you out of harm s way. Optimised crumple zones, reinforced bulkheads and side impact bars are there to carry force around and away from the passengers, giving this car a 4 star frontal and side impact rating (2004 EURO NCAP safety testing). There are a total of four airbags including driver and front passenger front and side airbags on all variants, adding an environment of protection. The front seatbelts have pretensioners and load limiters to keep the passenger in the optimum position in the event of a frontal accident. Of course there are several crucial technologies available to you to help you pre-empt and avoid problems arising. Front and rear disc brakes plus Anti-skid Braking (ABS) are standard, which help prevent the wheels locking up under extreme braking and greatly improves driver control during an emergency braking situation. The Getz is also supplied with a further braking technology called Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD). This maximises braking efficiency by taking into consideration the weight and location of passengers and luggage.

11 Efficiency without forsaking performance The heart of the car is the engine and the Hyundai engineers have designed this to beat strongly where ever you may take it for a run. Maximum torque is found at a lower rpm range, which means the car will feel nimble and responsive when you need it. You get usable performance with better fuel efficiency and the highest possible environmental standards. You have the choice of three engines, 1.4 or 1.6 litre petrol engines or the new 1.5 litre diesel engine. The 1.4 litre 16-valve multi-point fuel-injected DOHC petrol engine, delivers 70 kw of power at 6,000 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 125 Nm at just 3,200 rpm. This gives you plenty of power for zipping around town. For those needing even more performance, the spirited 1.6 litre petrol engine is a 16-valve multi-point fuel-injected DOHC engine which generates an impressive 78 kw of power at 5,800 rpm and peak torque output of 144 Nm at 3,200 rpm. The 1.5 diesel engine features cutting edge technology that includes highpressure Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDi), and a Variable Geometry Turbo, giving you fantastic performance and fuel economy. This is supported with some impressive output figures, including 65 kw of power at 4,000 rpm and 215 Nm of torque at 1,900-2,500 rpm. Not to mention the environmental friendliness of this engine, complying with stringent EURO IV emission regulations. Economical 1.4 litre DOHC petrol engine 1.6 litre DOHC petrol engine Sure and confident handling is provided by MacPherson strut front suspension and coupled torsion beam axle rear suspension, with coil springs and gasfilled shock absorbers in the rear. Power steering and a 5 metre turning circle mean that you can squeeze into the tightest space. Parking is a breeze, no cricked necks or aching shoulders. You are cocooned in comfort away from noise and vibration. And if you prefer a manual to an automatic or vice-versa, you have a choice. A 5-speed manual transmission is available with the 1.4 petrol variant or 1.5 diesel variant, and a highly responsive 4-speed automatic transmission is available on both the 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol variants. Keyless entry The ignition key has a remote locking and unlocking facility for the car. Spoiler stop light A rear roof spoiler has a high-mounted stop lamp embedded in it.
