The Butterfly Challenge is for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Leaders and Trefoil members. Butterfly shaped badge (3½ x3 ) cost 1.00 each - plus postage This challenge and the badge order form can be downloaded from our website www.girlguidingwelshpool.co.uk Welshpool Guides and Rangers have produced this challenge and badge to raise funds for the unit and towards a trip to Switzerland to visit Our Chalet, one of the World Centres. Thank you for your support - have fun completing the challenge!

Butterfly Challenge Please adapt any of the activities to suit your unit or make up your own challenges. Rainbows should aim to complete at least 3 different challenges of their choice. Brownies should aim to complete at least 4-5 challenges Guides, Senior Section, Leaders and Trefoil should complete at least 6 different challenges of their choice. 1. Learn about the lifecycle of a butterfly. 2. Make a butterfly welly peg. 3. Use string printing to make butterfly designs. 4. Make a caterpillar using pompoms. 5. Hold a butterfly party, when everyone dresses up as a butterfly. (Try making your own costume / wings). 6. Make a butterfly feeding station. 7. Colour in a butterfly picture. 8. Make a pincushion in the shape of a butterfly. 9. Learn how to say butterfly in different languages. 10. Make a butterfly fridge magnet using Hamma beads or Fimo. 11. Make a butterfly using shrink plastic. 12. Have a go making butterfly cakes. 13. Make a butterfly using origami. 14. Decorate biscuits with butterflies using icing. 15. Use marzipan, fondant icing to make butterflies models that you can eat! 16. Look for butterflies in your garden or around your unit meeting place. 17. Make a butterfly to hang in your garden. 18. Cook a meal using butterfly pasta farfalle. 19. Learn how to pipe chocolate butterflies and use them decorate cupcakes.
