Should a challenge be made and not verified, the contestant or relay team will be eliminated from the event. Please bring copies of when your times and distances occurred to the District meet (meet sheets, final results signed by your PIAA starter/referee, etc.). You may enter three qualified athletes and one qualified relay team per event. Your one alternate per event should not be entered online. Please write those entries on the alternate sheet and email to me. If we do not have these sheets from you by 1:00PM on May 11 th, we will make a call to your home school to check and see if you have entries for the meet. All performance lists will be emailed to the address submitted by your athletic director by Tuesday, May 12 after 9:00PM if everything goes well with the entry download from Milesplit.

In addition, individuals or relay teams that place eight (8th) or better at the District #10 championship shall also qualify provided their District meet qualifying time, height or distance is equal to or beher than the above standards.
2015 District 10 Track and Field Championship Meet I. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Board of Directors shall govern all meets. 2. District Meets shall be held under the jurisdiction of the District Committees of the PlAA. 3. PlAA eligibility rules shall apply. 4. National Federation (NFHS) Track and Field rujes shall govern all PIAA meets except where the Board of Directors modifies these rules. 5. If a Team Champion is named, points shall be awarded as follows: ISlplace-lO; 2 nd place-8 points; 3 rd place-6 points; 4th place-5 points; 6 th place -3 points; i h place -2 points; 8 th place -I point. 6. Changes in your online entry will not be permitted because of the school's clerical error. 7. The order of events are listed on a separate sheet. 8. The District Committee will try to conduct the various events using only Trials and Finals. If, however, the meet management deems this impossible, the inclusion of Semi-finals is authorized. 9. If it is found that more than one section will be necessary in the 4xl00 meter relay; 4x400 meter relay; 4x800 meter relay; 400 meter dash, 800 meter run; 1600 meter run; and 3200 meter run, those sections shall be run against time. The first eight place winners shall be determined by their performance. The District Committee reserves the right to run any or all of these races on the stagger. to. In the official record of the District Championship meet, the individual credited with the fastest time or greatest height or distance in each event shall be credited with the District Championship. Team records shall be treated likewise. 11. Field equipment: a. Participants in the pole vault, javelin throw, shot put, and discus throw, must provide their own poles, or implements. All equipment must be in accordance with National Federation rules. b. Weigh-ins of vaulters will take place prior to their competition. Coaches are to present to the DIO official doing the weigh-ins the completed Pole Vault Certification form in order for entry to compete.. c. The javelin, shot and discus implements will be weighed and measured by the 010 officials in cbarge and marked to indicate conformity with specified standards. Equipment and implements not in conformity with the specified standards as set forth in the NFHS/PIAA rules shall be rejected for competition. d. In case any equipment or implements furnished by participants becomes broken or otherwise unfit for competition, the officials in charge of the meet may permit 'emergency' equipment which may be borrowed from another school with permission from that schools' coach. District #10 does not provide implements for a contestant to borrow. 12. Each school will be limited to three entries and one qualifying alternate in individual events, and six in relays, but no more than three participants may compete in individual events and four in relays. Six relay names will be accepted by the PIAA for the State Championship meet. 13. In the District and State Championship meets, a contestant may compete in four events. 14. No contestants will be registered unless identified by the Principal of the school or his/her representative. 15. Net proceeds of the District 10 Meet will be retained in the District Treasury.
2015 District 10 Track and Field Championships DISTRICT 10 TRACK AND FIELD MEET RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Vaulters will be weighed and checked in at the pole vault area. Announcement will be made as to the time. 2. All throwing implements will be weighed-in promptly at 8:15 with priority given to morning throwing event competitors. Location of weigh-ins will be at equipment building at NW corner of stadium by the throwing areas. 3. Shot and Discus rings are concrete with metal rings bolted in the concrete. 4. Javelin runway is all-weather. W' spikes ONLY will be permitted. 5. Coaches and contestants, unless officiating or competing must sit in the stands. Only judges will be allowed at the finish lines. Coaches must assist contestants off the field when not competing. Athletes should not warm up in any event area unless supervised by an event official. 6. Only spikes W' will be permitted on the track. No needle spikes or permanent spiked shoes will allowed. An official will be checking au spikes before all races. 7. There will be trials and finals in the shot put, discus, javelin, long jump and triple jump. There will be three throws or jumps in the preliminaries or trials, and three (3) throws or jumps in the fmals. Top flights will be last so that the potential top nine (9) athletes will be near for the finals. Best effort stands in the finals. 8. Ties in the field events will be broken as per NFHS Rule Book. 9. ALL contestants are to report when 1st Calls are given. No delays! 10. Starting Blocks will be provided. Bring your own Moye Block. 11. If necessary, reseeding of heats may occur if top-seated athletes scratch from an event. This will be done to insure that the top remaining athletes are properly placed in preliminary heats or finals. Please listen to "scratch" announcements during the meet. 12. Runners must return in bis/her lane at finish line for proper identification. Do not leave the track until directed to do so by the official at the finish line. 13. Relay teams should bring their own batons. Check rule book for the type that may be used. 14. Tape may be used on the track to mark relay exchange zones. 15. Awards will be given out for 8 places in all events. Report to awards table immediately after each final. 16. Proper track attire is to be worn by all athletes receiving awards. No exceptions! 17. Champion teams in each classification will receive trophies. 18. Spire will be using a FAT timing system with results shown on a electronic board immediately after each race. In addition, 'live' results may be viewed on IPADS and Smart phones. Final recorded results at the District meet will be electronically transmitted to the PIAA office for seeding purposes from the Hy- Tek Scoring Program that is now required to be used by all districts in Pennsylvania. 19. An athlete may not be scratched from the PlAA Track and Field Championships after the District entry form has been submitted to the PIAA headquarters unless the scratch is for illness or injury and certified by a physician prior to the day of the PIA A Championship meet, or by a staff trainer during the PlAA Championship meet. Scratches for other reasons will result in an athlete being disqualified from the PIAA Championship meet.

In addition you are asked to supply two athletes/students, not involved in the competition, to assist you in that event, i.e. raking pits, retrieving implements, raising bar, etc. These students will be supplied with a T- shirt prior to the meet as well as a lunch ticket. Entry and participation by member schools in those tournaments sponsored by District Ten is totally voluntary if they qualify. Entry of a team by any member school into a tournament signifies that the member school accepts the conditions and provisions that are inherent with tournament rules, regulations, and guidelines.
