PROFI built on partnership PROFI technology is a co-operation between Pall food and Beverage and GEA Westfalia Separator Food Tech GmbH. It is the engineered result of significant R&D investment built on the extensive and unique brewing experience of the two companies, combined in a high performance centrifuge with a crossflow dead-end membrane system. The unique impact of the centrifuge PROFI technology employs a GEA Westfalia PROFI centrifuge. This centrifuge has a hydrohermetic feed system that provides gentle separation of the majority of the yeast cells from the product. The centrifugal element of the PROFI system benefits the brewery by providing: Low shearing effects - Colloid in the feed remain undamaged - More efficient clarification - High dry solids separation, maximizing yield - Better viability of yeast cells Simultaneous stabilization is possible by the addition of stabilizing agents that can be removed by the centrifuge Crossflow dead end the lowest velocity crossflow system The prepared product passes from the centrifuge to the PROFI membrane system. The basis for this system is a highly engineered membrane module insert covering the hollow fibre membranes.
