Challenge: practitioners vs. academia & industry Scope: b. Practitioners from different disciplines in a particular geographical area 1) monitor research and innovation projects 2) express common requirements 3) indicate priorities of common capabilities and standardization Geographical priorities: Mediterranean, Arctic and North Atlantic, Baltic regions, Danube river basin Danube river basin: to enable an EU joint network concept for disaster resilience, so that the countries of the region, which faces natural disasters, particularly flooding in a repetitive manner, can benefit at most from the EU civil protection mechanism 7
