JFSC Unifm Policy/Dress Code. JFSC prides itself on being a professional educational and military institution. The College dress code seeks to protect this professional image. a. Unifm requirements. (1) All students are required to bring the primary duty unifm and graduation unifm. Additionally, JAWS students are expected to have the full complement of unifms required by their Service. (2) The Commandant may modify the nmal dress standards when it makes sense to do so f team building, employee male, camaraderie reasons. (3) The COS and School Directs may designate wearing of any unifm that faculty, staff, and students are required to have f specific events. b. Dress standards on days when class is in session (except as noted below) are as follows: Primary Unifm (Note 1) Alternate Unifm Army: ACU Class B Navy: NWU/Flight Suit 1 Service Khaki, BDU Air Fce: ABU/Flight Suit 1 Sht Long Sleeve Blues (Note 1) Marines: MARPAT (Woodland Desert) Service B Service C Coast Guard: Operational Dress Tropical Blue International Fellows: BDU equivalent Class B equivalent Unifmed Civilians: BDU equivalent Class B equivalent Notes: 1. Faculty, staff, and students may wear the primary alternate unifm at their discretion unless directed otherwise. Flight suits are authized in accdance with Service regulations.
c. Civilian standards are as follows: (1) The male standards consist of a business suit, trousers with a conservative spt coat, and tie; however, wearing of the jacket f the entire duty day is not necessary. Shirts should be pressed, sht long-sleeved, with no fraying at the collar cuffs. Spread collar button-down Oxfd is suggested. Boots dress shoes should be of a good quality with low heel. Facial hair should be well groomed. Accessies may include a ring, watch, tie pin and/ cuff links. (2) The female standards consist of a conservative business suit (pants skirt), slacks with blazer, a conservative dress. Shirts, blouses, sweaters may be wn. Boots dress shoes should be of good quality with low to moderate heel. Wear accessies moderately. Women shall avoid low necklines and sht hemlines. (3) Civilian personnel perfming technical functions such as installing cable, maj office cleaning, furniture moves installation, should wear appropriate clothing as approved by their Direct/Dean as making good sense due to functionality and safety. The appropriate clothing shall always be in good repair. (4) Contract personnel shall wear clothing as approved by their parent ganization. Generally, it will be in good taste and in keeping with JFSC policies depending on the duties. (5) On Fridays, civilian casual is authized. Men may wear trousers and a long shtsleeve dress shirt with collar, without tie, a polo shirt. Shoes may be casual but may not be athletic styles sandals. Women may wear slacks, skirt, dress, and sandals with without hose.
d. Student and faculty attire f battlefield staff rides (Nmandy, Gettysburg, and Yktown) shall be seasonally appropriate attire. (3) Role Playing. Students may wear civilian attire when that attire is appropriate f role playing during an exercise. (4) During nmal wking hours, when classes are in session (0730 to 1630), athletic attire shall only be wn to/from the locker room and the building exit. (5) During non-wking hours (early/late, weekends, and holidays), military students and faculty may wear appropriate civilian attire when using JFSC facilities.
