7 5. Installation 5.1. Installation of camera The camera can be installed inside as well as on the outside of the vehicle as it is water-proof. Inside the vehicle, the camera can be installed using the provided adhesive pad. The camera can also be attached inside or outside the vehicle using the fixed holder. Fix the camera at a point not impeding your rear view. It must also be ensured that the cable is safely routed. For fixing the camera using bolts, suitable holes must first be drilled at the place of installation. Next, bolt the holder to the supporting surface, using the supplied bolts. Then lay the cable in its final position. When securing the camera using the adhesive pad, first lay the cable in its final position. Clean surface with some alcohol to remove dust and grease. Remove protective film from adhesive pad and firmly press pad onto surface. Turn inside the holder to correctly align camera as required.

8 5.2. Connection of camera To supply your camera with power it must be connected to the connecting cable of your vehicle s reversing lights. The camera is then activated every time the reverse gear is selected. Camera Connector Transmitter box wire clamp red Reverse lamp Antenna Red LED Power cable black wire clamp Connect the red camera cable to the positive cable of the reversing lights and the black cable to the negative cable. The positive cable is normally coloured, whist the negative cable is generally black. For absolute certainty the correct cables should, however, be determined by measuring or checking with the manufacturer. Ensure that the cables are accurately connected and insulate the connecting points to prevent bad contacts and shortcircuiting! 5.3. Installation of mirror Attach the mirror and integrated display to the existing rear-view mirror of your vehicle as follows: Position the bottom fixture on the rear of the mirror against the bottom of the rear-view mirror. Slide top fixture upwards and push over the top edge of the rear-view mirror. As soon as you let go of the top fixings, the fixings will clamp around the rear-view mirror. Additionally secure mirror using existing rubber bands.

9 6. Use 6.1. Charging the battery The display integrated in the mirror is supplied with power by a rechargeable lithium/ion battery. Charge battery before using mirror as well as from time to time to always ensure an adequate power supply. To charge the battery connect mirror to USB car charger using the USB cable and plug charger into cigarette lighter socket of vehicle. Once the USB car charger has been plugged into the cigarette lighter socket and voltage is applied, the red LED of the adapter lights up. During charging, the red control LED on the mirror is also lit permanently and goes out as soon as the battery is fully charged. Note: When connecting the system to the cigarette lighter socket during driving, care must be taken to ensure that the USB cable does not hinder the driver. Otherwise this may increase the risk of an accident. 6.2. Switching on/off To activate the display function of the mirror, slide On/Off switch on top of mirror to ON. A start-up sound is played and the display indicates Wireless reverse system. When switched on, the blue control LED of the Stand-By button is lit. To switch the system off, slide On/Off swith to OFF position. The blue control LED is then switched off.. 6.3. Displaying the camera image When switched on, the blue control LED of the mirror is lit. Only in this mode the camera image is displayed when the reverse gear is selected. By depressing the stand-by button the display changes to the stand-by mode. In this mode no camera images are displayed. Depress button again to reactivate the display. 6.4. MP3 player You can use the system to play back MP3 files from a plugged-in USB stick or inserted memory cards. Press the button to play the first MP3 file. To pause playback press button again. Playback volume can be adjusted using the volume control at the bottom of the mirror.

10 6.5. Radio function The Maginon Reverse Camera system also allows transmission of the played back MP3 files to an existing radio receiver and thus playback through the in-car audio system. Keep FM button depressed for 3 seconds to activate FM Mode radio playback. Using the / buttons, select a FM frequency (between 88.0 and 107.9) to be used for transmission to the radio receiver. You should select a frequency not used by any radio stations in your area. There should also be an adequate gap between the selected frequency and frequency of any existing radio station to achieve the best possible transmission quality. As soon as playback is activated through the radio, the loudspeakers of the mirror are switched off. To change back to playback through these loudspeakers keep button depressed again for 3 seconds. The display then indicates Speaker mode. The volume of the radio playback can also be adjusted using the volume control on the mirror. 7.
