Students will take a placement test upon arrival to determine their English proficiency level. 1. Print the entire Application Form 2. Provide a Bank Verification Letter and/or Sponsorship Letter. 3. Provide a photocopy of your valid Passport and any dependents traveling with you. 4. Pay $100 Application Fee (nonrefundable and nontransferable). 5. Provide official transcripts in English from the last school attended (Conditional Applicants). 6. Provide a scanned copy of your latest IELTS or TOEFL. The ELI application is separate from the University application process. Acceptance to the ELI does NOT guarantee acceptance to the University. ELI students interested in academic study must submit a separate application to Texas A&M University Commerce. The application will be reviewed for admission upon completion of the ELI Academic Program. Students who wish to enter a Graduate program, may request a Letter of Conditional Admission upon successful completion of the Advanced level of the ELI. Students are required to purchase health and repatriation insurance. Before an I-20 is issued; the applicant must supply the ELI with a financial statement. Financial statements older than one year prior to enrollment are not acceptable.
Financial Sponsorship Below is the estimated cost of study for one year at A&M-Commerce for an F-1 or J-1 international student studying in the English Language Institute. Please note this is an estimate of expenses for one year of study in the ELI. Students are required to provide proof of funding for one year of study in the ELI before they may receive an I-20 from A&M-Commerce. An additional $3,000 per year is required for each dependent included on the Form I-20. Attach an original, official bank letter in English, stating that sufficient funds are available to support your stay in the United States. An applicant may have more than one sponsor, but a minimum of $20,000 is required for a full year of academic study.
