GSM Smart Switch USER GUIDE GSM Smart Switch allows switching almost any appliance ON and OFF remotely via mobile network. It is designed to receive start/stop commands from specially coded messages or via direct call from a master number. It is capable to store up to 5 master numbers giving you and your colleagues an opportunity to control a burglar alarm, light in the office, auto start enabled generator, heaters, water pumps, video and audio equipment, motorized gates, electric motors and other industrial or household appliances.
MAKE SURE YOUR GSM SWITCH IS NOT CONNECTED TO ANY POWER SUPPLY! Now you can Insert SIM card into a corresponded slot as it is shown below: Plug the GSM Smart Switch into a wall socket or/and connect the corresponded terminals to a battery power supply (12Vdc). If your premises don t have mains available please use 12V car battery or any other 12Vdc power source. You may need a wall socket adapter which can be purchased at a local electrical store.
A short initialization time is required (approx. 60 sec) to get the GSM Switch into network. Don t try to press any buttons or perform other tasks during this time. During initialization time the SIG light is flashing every second until the GSM Switch is successfully connected to network. Ones the connection is established the SIG light starts flashing every 4 sec. Press the SET button. The STA light starts flashing. Now you have 90 sec to make a call from your desired master number to a SIM card inserted into GSM Switch. You won t be charged for this call because the GSM Switch will hang up after recognizing your phone number which will be safely stored into its memory. Repeat this step if more than one master number is required to set up. By making a call from a master number to a SIM card inserted into GSM switch you can switch ON and OFF the GSM Switch internal relay. Each following call changes the state of internal relay to opposite. The GSM internal relay has 2 normally open contacts which can be used to connect and disconnect your load or start and stop a generator for instance. If you have more than one master number (up to 5 master numbers can be stored), each following call from ANY master number will change the relay state to opposite. To be able to use SMS control you would have to set up a user password. The GSM Switch comes with factory pre-set password 0000 which has to be changed to your own password which is not easy to guess. Make sure the GSM Switch is powered on and connected to mobile network: SIG light is indicating a successful network connection by performing flashing every 4 sec. Create and send to GSM Switch the following text message: Where XXXX is your old password and 1234 is your new password.
Create and send the following message to your GSM Switch: where 1234 is your current password and 13788889999 is a master number. Repeat STEP 6 to create and store another 4 master numbers if required. Create and send the following text message to your GSM Switch: To turn ON: To turn OFF: There is another useful SMS command available which can tell the GSM switch to change the current state to opposite: user password. where 1234 is your current You can store this message in your mobile phone or your partner s mobile phone and use it every time you need to turn something on or off. Each following message will change the state of GSM Switch to opposite. You would only need one message instead of two which is perfect for some people. Create and send the following SMS to your GSM Switch: If successful, you should receive one of the following confirmations: or The type of confirmation message depends on state your GSM Switch currently at.
Should you require to turn the GSM Switch ON or OFF manually, press and release SW button. The current state of GSM Switch will be changed to opposite. Should you require to restore the system back to factory settings press and release SW and SET buttons at the same time. STA light will flash 2 times indicating a successful operation. All master numbers will be erased and user password changed back to 0000. IMPORTANT! 3G or SDMA card is not supported. The front mains socket doesn t work as a switch. It only replaces a wall socket the GSM Switch is plugged in. This device is designed for Indoor use only!
